Desi Rasoi offers its diners two forms of meals at all times. You can opt for the buffet or decide to go a la carte. I scanned the buffet and found that it had most of the usual suspects in the form a soup, two kinds of starters, rotis with a selection of 3-4 side dishes and some rice, followed by some desserts. Works very well for corporate groups and kitty parties which seem to be frequent here. We opted to go the a la carte way and order some butter naans and some plain rotis. The restaurant is very generous with their butter and if you like that, you will love the naans. We had a paneer tikka masala and a dum aloo to go with it. While the Paneer Tikka was good without being great. We also ordered their Rajasthani thali which comes with the works – dal bhaati choorma, rice, rotis, sabzis and the like. Their a la carte can take a while in coming and so check on waiting time when you place your order, especially for the thalis.
The food was average with a few items good but other items either spicy or tasteless. Ambience: Its Rajasthani themed but quite old and average maintained. Service: Not upto the mark, the waiters were not taking care to fill water in glass. Food: Chaat - pani puri, papdi chaat and dahi bada was good. Starters - hara bhara kebab was good, manchurian too spice and baby corn tasteless. Noodles was thick and average in taste. Manchow soup was bit spicy. Main course - Daal baati churma was good, paneer gravy toooo spicy, chole average. Desserts - gulab jamun was good, ras malai too hard with watery milk consistency, ice cream was pine apple flavor but too much essence in it. Overall our experience was average and as I had good discount it did not feel bad. Also it was pure veg buffet which is the reason I chose as my mom cannot bear non veg smell.
The place seems to be quite new. The buffet offering is stunning and really liked the taste of all the food served. The soup and the Breads would be served from the kitchen. The variety of the buffet spread was quite good and like the ambience quite a lot! To start with manchow soup was quite stunning in taste with noodle crumbs. Followed it by the chats. We'd the Pani Puri, dahi chat and papdi chat. Then we took the kadai paneer which tasted really really fresh and very tasty. Dal and veg gravy was good too. We teamed the gravy with Butter Naan and butter kulcha. Other than that we'd fried rice, hara bhara kabab, and special signature dish of desi rasoi. We also had desserts like carrot halwa, Mysore pak, jamoon and vanilla ice cream. I may have forgotten some but you will find it all in my pics attached below. Since am reviewing on mobile I can only attach 10 images. Anyways I've tried best to accommodate the food served there. Attention to the clients is what I liked about Desi Rasoi. Having said that If you are a vegetarian as I'm you must visit this place!
We celebrated our daughter s Birthday here on 27/4/19. The food was very very tasty. We loved every dish.Lots of sweets.Very humble staff.Parking is difficult here.we loved the buffet.
First of all it was a good booking experience with EAZY DINER app. As we don't find too many Veg Buffet Restaurants in Bangalore, Desi Rasoi provides a good simple and tasty food. Dont expect too many varieties but carefully chosen limited items and little confusing against their interior and theme ( It is supposed to be a Rajasthani theme Restaurant). Their Dum Aloo had a good coating even though it was quite Bland.Veg Kolhapuri was tasty. Bhindi Subji was also good. When I said little confusing against its Rajasthani theme, They have managed some chinese items like Baby Corn Manchurian and Noodles!!. To satisfy us Locals , they provide Rasam Rice combo also!!. But whatever they served, we felt it was worth the money. One has to visit this place for a good veg dinning experience.
We went for lunch buffet. The food quality is average. Although the ambience is that of a Rajasthani hotel but the taste is not up to mark. Dal bati was a big let down. Overall, average experience.

In fact vegetable Biryani, Kashmiri Kofta with Garlic naan, Gatte Ki sabzi and Dal Bhati Churma available here is a must try. Missi roti, Makai ki Roti is crisp and delicious. Stuffed Roti is extremely popular with stuffing of gobi, onion and potato.
