Dhaba – Estd 1986 Delhi, as the name suggests, is a brand that has been in existence for over 30 years, bringing the rich and delicious Punjabi cuisine to diners, in their popular Dhaba style. 90s Bollywood hits, film posters on the walls and a generally bright and cheery ambience make for a fun dining experience in a posh dhaba. And, then there is the menu, with dishes and drinks with fanciful names in ‘Hinglish’. The drinks menu is impressive – aside from the signature cocktails and a wide range of spirits, they also have around ten versions of 'Lassi'(try the Thandai or Gulabo Lassi) on the menu! 'Dhaba Prawns' – truly giant prawns grilled with a lovely masala, are a must order and their 'Galouti Kebabs' also, have a large fan following. The brand’s other signature items are the 'Tandoori Dhaba Raan' which is slow cooked to perfection, 'Chitta Butter Chicken' which has a mild white curry and not the usual red, and 'Balti Meat' served in, you guessed it, a mini steel bucket! 'Makki Di Roti' and 'Sarso Da Saag', a Punjab speciality combination, will keep vegetarian diners happy, as will the 'Tandoori Bhune Hue Aloo' which has a unique flavour. The staff are attentive and helpful, so if you are not sure what to order, they will happily help you with your selections.
Visited this restaurant during one of their Bollywood karaoke nights. Was a bit apprehensive about that at first but that was not necessary what so ever. It added to the local vibe and loads of diners joined in. The food is very good and the staff gives great suggestions. For example we don’t like spicy food and they offered several options which were great. Rantun, one of the waiters, is super friendly and extremely helpful. I’ll will definitely go back when I’m in Bangalore again.
Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi is a dhaba themed Punjabi restaurant in Marathahalli. Located just below Foxtrot Gastropub, this place is well known for its dhaba style Punjabi cuisine. Ambiance: A dhaba style ambiance with an open bar, live dessert counter, chat counter and parantha counter. They have a separate lounge for ala carte. There are pictures of Punjabi wrestlers, actors, some movie posters on the wall. They have a big LCD where they regularly play music and sports. There is always a live Gidda performance which is the main attraction of this restaurant. I visited this place on a Friday afternoon with some of my friends. Appetizers: Veg Momos, steamed momos marinated with spices and served with Green Chutney. It was good. Tandoori Bhune Aloo was roasted baby potatoes, pressed, shallow fried and tossed with spices, onions, and saunth chutney. Loved it. Veg Galouti were slow cooked vegetarian version of “Galouti Kebab” but the base parantha was overcooked and a bit hard. Tough to tear. Needs improvement. Mushroom Hara Pyaaza were button mushrooms tossed with green spring onions. It was good. Dhaba Paneer Tikka was one of the best paneer tikkas I have ever tried. The paneer was so soft and it was homemade so it brought great taste to this dish. I recommend this as a must here. Drinks: Somras was a cocktail made in heaven A raw mango flavored cocktail which was really refreshing. I recommend it. Gulaabo was a Kala khatta vodka-based cocktail which was good. Virgin Mojito was good too. Main Course: Amritsari Chhole cooked in ‘Amritsari’ style. It had well balanced spicy taste and it goes well with kulcha and missa paratha. Dal Dhaba was Dal Makhni in Dhaba style, which was thick, creamy and delicious. I recommended it. Kanastari Baingan Bharta; baingan cooked in tandoor mashed and finished with tomato, ginger, cumin and green chili. Served best with Amritsari Kulche. Amritsari Kulche were stuffed with paneer, pyaaz, aloo and mixed veg. Dessert: Matka Kulfi: It was good. The service was good, there was no delay in the service and the person who served us Mr. Asif was a very courteous man. Overall, This place was worth visiting. This brand has won many accolades throughout India. I would say, this brought the dhaba culture to a new level. I would love to visit again to have some more of their delicious treats. Foodie’s Verdict: Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Adios Akhilesh Math
Visited here with a friend for dinner. We really dint have any idea about the taste of the food. The starter we ordered as per the service boy 's recommendation "kaala sha charcoal" chicken... And yes it was awesome.. It was the first time that I ate charcoal... No worries... Its edible charcoal 😊 We can't miss the saarso da saak and makki ka roti in this winter.. And he severed hot with homemade while butter and jaggery.. Yummy it was... We tried bhatindi ki chicken tangri...it was tasty too... Juicy and soft chicken leg... For two people it might go upto 1000 Rs including service charge.if anyone has Zomato gold, cab be used. If you are interested you can have varieties of lassi, cocktails, mocktails, liquor. They serve buffet in the afternoon. No need to book a table prior but if its a big group need to book.
Biggest Restaurant out of all their chains. The best in taste always. I am a regular foodie and try to bring my friends and loved ones whenever possible. Keep up the awesome service and hospitality guys. Cheers! A must visit for north Indian food lovers in Bangalore. Must Try: Dal Dhaba Paneer Makkhanwala Somras Gulabo
Too much spicey on the name of Punjbai Dhaba style food. I could not eat so spiced Aloo Paratha. Instead it was full of mirchi...too hot. No will never try again
