Kitchen On Table, HSR, Bengaluru, is a casual dining restaurant serving authentic Japanese delicacies to its guests. What makes this restaurant stand out is the live cooking counter that is right at your table where the trained chef cook and serve you an ever-fresh meal. Other than this, they have Sashimis and Nigiris. They also have a section dedicated to barbeque which offers dishes like ‘Satay Chicken’ - chicken cooked with garlic, lemongrass, yellow curry paste and lemon juice, turmeric powder, coconut milk, pickled ginger and chopped coriander and ‘BBQ Hot Wings’ - wings grilled with special sauce. 'Pomfret' and 'Jackfish' are subject to availability.
The starters were really good with different variety of dishes. First time i'm getting much more dishes in veg than non-veg :) so vegetarians can happily walk in. Main course which make on live table was not much impressive as expected.. good for one time - :( costly - 1k per head
Kitchen on table is an amazing concept restaurant but, personally it disappointed me. Walked in for Sunday lunch and found, the restaurant is almost crowded still the staff members asked us to join the table which is already occupied by most number of people and it really turned me off.The restaurant can accommodate only few groups due to sufficient space and need to work on ambience. There is a little darkness on the other side of the sittings. After waiting for some time, we finally opt for A’la carte and it take a little while to get our food. Don’t wanna to complain about food since the chef behind the Asian cuisine is superb. The portions are generous and quality is good. Apart from buffet, their menu list is vast with Asian delicacies, mock-tails and dessert, serves hot, fresh and at cut-price. We devoured : KOREAN FISH :This brownish Korean version Barbecued fish is simple, shiny, spicy yet deliciously smoky served with crunchy healthy coleslaw, red chilli pungent dip and spicy mayo which is a perfect appetiser to nibble on. TERIYAKI SALMON : As most of the time we savoured Chicken Teriyaki, first time we go for Teriyaki Salmon which turns out a complete winner and I wonder why I have not tried this before, amazingly tender, juicy ,flaky, moderately sweet, scrumptious with full of flavours and perfectly glazed with teriyaki sauce. SUNSHINE MAKI : This greenish hued maki with Orangish tiny eggs of flying fish totally lives to its name and is a salmon and tuna rolled with sushi vinegared rice topped with fresh sliced avocado burst with seafood flavours and gives a onolicious symphony to your taste buds served with nice soya-sauce, reviving wasabi and pinkish pickled ginger. It was a super-great food but unfortunately it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. I highly suggest to visit early or book a table in advance to enjoy their buffet. Last week, I visited the Kitchen on Table with my wife on a weekend after booking it through Nearbuy expecting a special experience on a special day. Kitchen on tables have special tables where the chef cooks the food in front of the customers and this is what had attracted me so much as to plan my day around it. However on reaching, I found out that this table is on share basis among different guests. Customers should have definitely been made aware of this before hand. Next, they weren't particularly aware of nearbuy vouchers. I had to repeat myself more than a couple of times before a more senior person understood and acknowledged that. This could have easily turned from plain uncomfortable to disrespectful. While the waiters served barbeque in the skewers, we were expecting them to use the table grills that were there. But to our surprise, they didn't use it. Over and above, when we asked for forks to pull out the kababs from the skewers, they asked us to use our dining forks. They even tried to argue that that's how it is supposed to be. To add to the woes, the seating arrangement was very painful due to the peculiar difference in height between the chair and the table. The only saving grace was the tatse of the food. The starters especially were very well cooked and each dish had a distinct aroma and taste to it, which was evident from the first bite. Well, the sad part is you don't visit a restaurant just for the taste of the food but also for the ambience that it offers and that's where it scores miserably. After carefully considering the reviews of so many trustworthy Zomato users, I had chosen Kitchen on Table to enjoy a lunch with my wife on her birthday. It was embarrassing to me to almost ruin her day.
Superb food, very tasty. Sashimi lovers will love this place for sure. Service is quick. Nice ambiance. Stuffs are friendly and helpful. Good place for Japanese and Thai food.
Very lively chef (Mr. June) who knows his job quite well. He prepares food as per your taste. He makes you engaged actively during the process. My Sons really liked the Food and especially the experience that came along with it. Attitude of the staff is very friendly. Worth the cost.
