One thing is for sure when you head to Ottimo, the meal you will have will be something you will talk about for a long time to come. Chef Vittorio puts his heart and soul into every dish that leaves the kitchen. He travels often and brings back with him a host of ingredients that he very generously uses in his dishes. So may just be lucky on your visit. Start your meal off with the 'Squid and Chorizo' – thinly sliced chorizo, oven baked to a crisp served up with squid that is coated in a chorizo mash base. Quite the play in texture and taste. Vegetarians can try the 'Salt Cooked Onion with Parmesan Chilli and Star Anise'. The trick to this one is the Onion being placed in a mound of salt and baked. The insides are then scooped out, blended with parmesan and stuffed back in. The 'Lobster and Chili Double stuffed Ravioli' is sinfulness on a plate and you are not going repent at all. If you like a bit of a surprise, the 'Agnolotti' has two stuffings separated by a twist – one side has liquid smoked ricotta and the other has morels in a pepper aglio-olio sauce. The 'Vegetable Risotto with Fontina, chilli and berry powders' is a lovely treat. End with the 'Torte Caprese'. I have had Version 2.0 with gold dusting. You may just see another version.
Amazing food and unmatched hospitality! Chef Chirag personally served us, explaining the ingredients and how to eat. He went an extra mile by serving us tiramisu with his own hands! Loved the overall experience!
The way food was presented and chef Chirag took us through the palate while personally serving us ... We were totally bowled. Chef went out of the way to serve us meal breaker (watermelon sorbet) and dessert from his side. It was a truly awesome experience on our date night.
I love Italian food, and this was a step above. Try the chef's tasting menu, every dish a delight. Our waiter was very accommodating in exchanging dishes from one set menu to another. For example, I wanted the pannecotta instead of tiramisu as my final treat; my dinner partner doesn't like squid so they substituted more shrimp in his starter. Prompt and smooth service. I plan to come here again.
I would highly recommend the delicious tasting menus that Ottimo are now proposing, this is truly a culinary experience to try. Sunita helped us choose and for each dish explained the composition and the savors. Thank you Ottimo team for the excellent evening we spent!
Am not a frequent taster of Italian cuisine but had an oppurtunity to have recently . Really enjoyed the food and culinary. The texture and the taste was entirely new experience . Hats off to the chef.
Whenever you flip open a gourmet magazine you are bound to find an article on Italian food. Some deep piece on modern versions of classic Italian recipes or the importance of wines in the cuisine, whatever the topic may be but one thing is evident that Italian food has taken over the gastronomy world through its delicious flavour. This is one cuisine which comes in every price range, as fancy as you want or as pocket-friendly. If you want to go all out then there are some wonderful fancy Italian restaurants in Bengaluru and one of them is ‘Ottimo’. This fine dining venture of ITC Gardenia is an elegantly designed space that is known for authentic Italian food served in luxurious setting. With live music and W-Fi they keep their patrons very happy.
Choose a bottle of burgundy from their extensive wine library to complement your plate of pasta. Variety is truly immense, you will be spoilt for choices. Wade into the menu through the antipasti. Ottimo offers a generous spread. Open with, warm prawn salad with burrata cheese, artichoke soup with gorgonzola, thinly sliced parma ham with honey pearls, minestrone Tuscan style, citrus flavoured sous vide chicken breast with Italian herbs, char grilled octopus salad, homemade parmesan stuffed tortellini in saffron broth and scallops layered with percorino romano. In second course you can enjoy, rabbit ravioli, risotto latte, tender lamb chops stuffed with parmigiano & truffle, pizza Ottimo, vincentina style cod fish served with anchovy, spinach tagliolini, slow cooked lamb shank Milanese style, roasted pumpkin & ricotta ravioli, seabass simmered in a broth of celery and tomato dumplings with green asparagus coulis.
You will definitely won’t be short on choices. Finish off with a helping of traditional Italian dessert Tiramisu before walking out. Your entry into Ottimo transports you into another sophisticated world of elegance and class. Refined formal furnishings in warm tones of brown creates the space but the clever use of olive color adding a beautiful contrast. On walls hangs a series of stunning photographs of vegetables done by a talented artist. Tables groan under the shiny crystal ware and a soft light is cast to make them glow. The ambience is the very epitome of class. One takes it for granted that Ottimo will be expensive, which it is. A fantastic place for special occasions.
