Tao Terraces is split into 2 places – a nice, upmarket dining space as you enter the restaurant and a rooftop bar and lounge area as well. Both sections see an immense demand, particularly over the weekends. You can opt for the buffet if you want an indulgent meal when at the mall. Or can take time to peruse their a la carte menu. What I appreciated was that it did not take an overly long time for the food to get to the table despite a full house for the buffet. Now for your starters, you can definitely try from the range of dumplings, - vegetarian or meat. The 'XO Seafood Dumpling', 'Pork Gyoza' and the 'Three Mushrooms, Leeks, Water Chestnuts, Lotus Stem Dumpling'. Sushi lovers can opt for the platter which has a good mix of Maki and Nigiri. The Appetizers section has a large selection of pan-Asian dishes – 'The Pan Roasted Pork Belly with Fresh Red Chilli' and Bell Pepper', the simple flavours of the Ojingeo Bokkeum, or stir-fried squid and the Lemongrass Jumbo Prawns strike all the right notes. For the vegetarians, the 'Wild Mushroom Glass Noodles Spring Rolls', The 'Hot Basil Tofu with Bird’s Eye Chilli' and the 'Crispy Lotus Stem and Water chestnuts' will give you all the crunch you are looking for. The 'Vietnamese Pho' will make a nice meal for one here. Getting into main courses, there is a lot to choose from in fish, meat and poultry – the sautéed prawn with lemongrass, fresh basil and chilli vegetables, the 'Teriyaki Chicken with Sauteed Broccoli', the Hawker Style chicken with young ginger and star anise. The 'Thai Curries in Red, Yellow and Green' are good bets too. There is a range of rice and noodles to pair this with. For desserts the 'Jaggery Pancake with Honey and Coconut' is good.
