When I visited Bangalore I visited this Bakery and had a wonderful experience. I would recommend for ther hospitality

In a great city like Allahabad with so much history and population of 24 lakhs, it was a bit surprising that we could not find presence of any of the known hotel chains there.A thorough search on internet introduced us to Hotel Kanha Shyam. Located in the heart of the city and very close to the historic monuments,the hotel is housed in a modern building of contemporary architecture. The guest rooms and wash rooms are large and has all basic amenities.A single restaurant at the lobby level serves all meals including breakfast. The staff are efficient and food is of good quality.We didn’t get the impression that the hotel was full. The price we paid in the hotel was less than half of what was paid the Taj Ganges in Varanasi.The value for money received is disproportionately high.Quite frankly,there was nothing to complain about during our two nights stay. On the night before our check out,we were given a scare though!Late in the night when we were already half asleep,we were advised that we may have to be shifted to another room as there lis likely to be an interruption in water supply to our room!Few phone calls back and forth,the hotel staff managed to postpone the problem at least till our departure next morning! Full marks to them!Those of us familiar with the working of a hotel know the numerous ‘emergencies’ encountered each day! To conclude,those heading to Allahabad,can certainly choose Kanha Shyam as the first option for stay!

We've been frequenting this Marriott property for over 4 years and it was literally like our second home. But over the past few months , the food and service has been an issue. I have spotted flies on the counter and a rat roaming around the bakery (which prompted me not to buy any unwrapped baking goods on their shelves!). I was told that rodents and flies are seasonal issues that keep happening . But yesterday's experience was the tipping point. We had taken our kids to grab some sandwiches for a quick lunch. We order 4 toasted sandwiches plus a milkshake. After patiently waiting for 30 minutes, the milkshake arrives warm- maybe they had just milked a cow and chilled the milk a bit(Thats the only explanation I could come up for the long wait) . 15 minutes lates 2 of the sandwiches(that my kids ordered) arrive but were cold and the cheese had hardened . I wanted to return them but as my kids were hungry beyond words, they ate it. An hour into our order my husband's order arrives cold. When he complained, the server took it back and returned 2 minutes later with the same sandwich which seemed to have be reheated. Mine was the only decent and fresh one but arrived after an hour and a half of placing the order . When we wished to speak to the manager, we were asked to pay the bull first, which we did. The Chef came trotting in after 10 minutes saying that his kitchen was not at fault as the sandwiches were ready for pass but no one took them. The Manager later informs us that since the hotel audit was going on, most of the staff was busy attending to the auditors. This is not the kind of experience one would expect from a Marriott restaurant. My only request to the hotel is that, if you are staffed is so preoccupied during that audits that they can't serve the regular guests, kindly shut down your hotel during that period.
