There is no end to the surprises thrown at us by the genius mind of celebrity Chef Ritu Dalmia, who after wooing us with her original restaurant has managed to recreate her magic through her new venture ‘Café Diva’, an extension to the Greater Kailash branch. The outlet is now open at Sangam Courtyard of R K Puram in Delhi, a locality fast catching up in popularity points like other famous culinary destinations in the city. Based on Level one of the courtyard, the restaurant gives you an ideal backdrop for a lazy brunch or lunch with your friends and as the restaurant recently got its liquor licence, feel free to screw open a bottle of wine to go with the meal. The restaurant even does home delivery if you want to enjoy Café Diva’s delights in the privacy of your home.
Ritu Dalmia has a refined taste for music and doesn’t disappoint the diners in her selection. While charming melodies flows in the background, browse through the menu to start savouring the Italian and European flavourings on offer. Menu is not too extensive but provides enough choices to pamper your taste buds. First course entails, prawn fennel orange salad, fritti misti-crispy fried fish, quinoa & apricot salad, grilled ricotta cheesecakes with tomato confit, Asian sesame chicken salad, crispy tartlets with pan tossed mushrooms, trio of bruschetta and prawns wok-tossed with garlic. For second course choose between, fried fish burger, Kerala style fish moiley served with quinoa, pizza marinara, risotto with scarmoza & spinach, sweet & sour papaya curry, ravioli with slow roasted pumpkin & feta, pizza cotto and grilled bratwurst in red wine & black pepper.
In case for desserts, ask your server for the dessert of the day and choose from the day’s selection. Café Diva you will find to be a little expensive, but that is justified due to its creativity and authenticity. In typical Ritu Dalmia’s style, Café Diva is designed to reflect class and subtlety. A wide room flanked by a row of tall bay windows lets you peek in the entire courtyard. Sit by the window to watch people go by to pass the time between the courses. Café Diva is elegant, delicate, eye-pleasing and chic. The restaurant is abuzz with activity at meal times hard for you to obtain a table – call ahead.
