The only known modern Thai restaurant in the city, the restaurant is owned by the chef who runs it. Chef Gurmehar Singh has international experience working in Thai restaurants around the world and his easy familiarity with traditional recipes and modern drama is unparalleled. The restaurant, in the fashionable hub of Sangam Courtyard, is compact and the lack of natural light has been cleverly offset by tinted glass on the walls. Every single starter on the menu is a take oo some traditional starter, but with Singh’s own twist.
Usually I could forgive this but it has been unavailable for six to eight months according to my waiter. So 350 INR for a bottle of water later I left. Place looked nice and I'm sure the things the do have taste good but if something is unavailable for that long take it off the menu for God's sake.
Location is central to South Delhi as its easily accessible by DTC bus/ taxi and close to a Delhi Metro Station (Moti Bagh). Housed in the Sangam Courtyard on ground floor. Staff is courteous. We’d cocktails and it wasn’t tasting anything like I’d tasted the same preparation at other places. In fact I’d to leave it. The food we’d ordered wasn’t too tasty, was oily whereas we’d specifically asked to keep oil to bare minimum. Cost as compared to similar standard resto-bars were on the higher side. Though this place has its own fan-following but I’d rather not go to Ziu if I’ve a choice.
Great restaurant with very good food. However, one does not understand the logic - why are fine dining restaurants so niggardly in their helpings. One helping of noodles was not sufficient for two.
Ambience and service is pretty good but the food was decent but not super delicious. Prices are a bit steep if you include beer or a glass of wine (great collection though). Battered squid was more batter than the squid. Thai food like green curry, pad Thai is recommended.
This restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Sangam Food Court. Advice reservations though on weekdays one can get a place without one.
