Caffe Tonino is a hip hangout where the buzz refuses to die. Every evening sees throngs descending on the Italian restaurant intent on eating their way through the menu. The air inside is redolent of bubbling mozzarella wafting out of the pizza oven even as the sun beats a hasty retreat outside. On hot summer evenings' salads whet your appetites like nothing else and the café has ample options. Evenings also call for moreish finger food and the 'Panino Con Verdure' tops the list of vegetarian sandwiches here. You will find 'Grilled Zucchini', roasted peppers and other tasty morsels trapped between 2 perfectly-toasted artisanal bread in the panino. For a lighter main course, try the 'Pesce Acqua-Pazza', where river sole fillets are cooked in a lemon, tomato and garlic broth. The best seats to grab are those close to the floor-to-ceiling windows lined with lush potted plants.
Lots of western restaurants in Asia end up giving up to local culture and mixing some local ingredients to make it more palatable. Thankfully Cafe Tonino did not do that. We had authentic Italian food prepared to perfection, with high quality ingredients. I had their signature dish - Farrotto di Vegetali - which was awesome. The service was super attentive and nice and the coffee was also great. Highly recommended.
I had been eating Indian for a month, tempting to get back to roots! The pizza was with a thin bad and not the best I had ever tasted but nevertheless good. I had a cheese cake which was good. The service pleasant and the restaurant deco very international and comfortable and pleasant. Toilets very clean. The prices are fairly expensive. The alcoholic beverages v expensive so I settled with a bottle of San Peregrino which was almost the price of the glass of wine! I enjoyed and if you want to take a break I recommend.
I'm regular to this restaurant due to excellent service, authentic Italian dishes including thin crest pizza, wine and fish fillet of several varieties. Ambiance is similar to what we get in Europe. One can feel at home in this cafe.
We looked for a reasonably priced European restaurant and found Torino close to our hotel. We had a great Italian pizza, very good pasta, nice chicken breast and beer. The atmosphere is very Italian, the prices are more than reasonable and overall experience is very good. Recommend
My friends and me were travelling in India for a couple of weeks and we were craving for some GOOD international food (we were not the big fans of Indian food). Our dinner at Cafe Tonino was the BEST Italian food we tried in New Delhi, plus our waiter pleased us with some tricky requests that we had. The place was quiete, nice and clean; the service was fast and the food exquisite. The average prices were a bit more expensive if compared to other restaurants (~560 INR).
Any gourmet in love with world gastronomy will have a special fondness for Italian cuisine. This beautiful rustic cuisine emerges from the wilds of Italy and finds a home in the snazzy locales of Delhi NCR. Every foodie worth his salt appreciates his pizzas and pastas. Italian food is one of the most popular cuisines in the city and shares equal love with Chinese food, which is a high praise indeed. As we ourselves are a huge Italian food buffs, we have our own set of favorites. ‘Caffe Tonino’ however leads the pack. It is our long-standing favorite when we want a no-frill hearty Italian fare in charming setting. The bistro is tucked in the heart of buzzing Connaught Place, New Delhi, near the PVR Plaza cinema building. Keep an eye out for the entrance of the bistro, it’s blink and miss.

Pair your dessert with their dessert coffee. Pop open a bottle of wine or stick with a non-alcoholic beverage to accompany your meal. Contrary to what you might think, Caffe Tonino is a surprisingly affordable restaurant. Much of it’s popularity is owed to it’s food but the décor certainly helps the matter. This enchanting sunlit bistro flows into different dining nooks. Chevron pattern flooring sets off beautifully against the exposed white brick walls. Framed photographs, light wooden furniture and soft ambient lighting, only adds to the appeal of this delightful bistro.
