This restaurant has a chequered history. When the hotel was part of the Aman chain, it was a high-priced dining room with a swish, modern sushi counter. Ever since the property parted ways with the Aman, the pretensions have gone, prices have come down and the food has actually improved. The menu is largely Indian and seeks to replicate comforting home flavours with a minimum of fuss. But it is still more of a hotel dining room than a restaurant for outsiders.
Gone for a dinner with relatives, although its not the first time we were there and always had a good food, but on 17/3/19 we were totally disappointed by the lousy service rendered by the staff. It took too long to bring the food and putting more stars to it....It was served cold. We hav request to heat it again then. Pizza was so cold that we have to get it changed. Even the billing took 20 mins.
A pleasant place with a reasonably good Menu. The food was quite nice but the service was much below the mark. Had placed the order for Soup, Salad and a Pizza and was served these dishes in a reverse order. Maybe better luck next time......
Excellent place , I have been going for over 5 years, classy and great cuisine . Expanded the menu which was quite limited somwtims back. The negative is prohibitive costs which is not justified even when compared to Imperial or Leela.
My husband and I just completed a 4 night stay at The Lodhi, and we had the pleasure of eating several breakfasts and dinners at Elan. All of our meals were delicious, with many options on the menu. The staff was very helpful, and the service was excellent!
I went to Elan restaurant after a long gap. My past experience was not good. It was acceptable as a coffee time less crowded place. This time I am amazed. Set up changed. Dishes are good. Name are same but quality improved. Their aptitude has changed. I appreciate the person who brought this change. 👍👍
Take all-day dining seriously as the city has so much to offer on that front. Delhi is brimming with numerous all-day dining rooms in various styles and in all kinds of budget so you have a plethora of dining options just waiting to be explored. These places not only provide the right kind of background but a menu that travels all across the globe, not to mention the timings which are flexible and odds end. Keep the well-known places aside and foray into the unknown with ‘Elan’, a classy lovely venture of The Lodhi on Lodhi Road, Delhi. Located in few of the most beautiful green pockets in Delhi, Elan takes your breath away by its ambience alone. This is luxury at its best. Since the hotel parted ways with Aman chain, the restaurant has only grown in quality.
Elan caters to the in-house guests 24X7, offering them a vast selection of cuisines from North Indian to Continental to Italian, there is something for everyone. The place is ideal for cosy brunches or even for low key business meetings when you want a secluded yet classy background to the negotiations. Pop open a bottle of wine or wash down the appetizers with some of the cocktails, Elan has it all. Give a shot to their signature cocktails, Banaras, imli martini, olivine and roche jaune are some of their best. Tuck into, vilayati nadru ke kebab, poached prawn masculine salad, palak ki chaat, samosas, bydagi spiced prawns and lucknawi tawa chaap. For second course go for, kalonji murgh, grilled baby sea bass, pizza, pasta, chicken & turkey brioche slider, mutter mangodi ki subzi and Thai red/green curry.
To tickle your sweet tooth they put out a vast variety of desserts. Indulge in, desi cassata, thandai ice cream, steam baked French chocolate cake, kesar phirni, white chocolate yoghurt, classic tiramisu, kala khatta sorbet, khumani ka meetha and rasmalai. Elan gets the advantage of being situated in a green foliage enveloped part of the city. The décor screams affluence and class. Everything is posh, refined and tastefully designed. Subtle soft shades are used to create the space and row of wide glass plated windows flood the room with sunlight. The best seats in the house is however outdoors where small tables are tucked between tall lush planters besides the water body.
