We happen to find much pleasure in golden days when Delhi was newly born and crafted under the clever hands of Edwin Lutyen, after whom the central city is lovingly called Lutyen’s Delhi. To pay homage to this esteemed architect many fine dining establishments have named themselves after him but nobody comes even close to ‘Lutyens Cocktail House’. This delightful gastro-bar is located in the prime spot at Janpath, right at the heart of central Delhi, overlooking a magnificent view of Lutyens Delhi. Lutyens Cocktail House accomplish to present a fabulous menu that travels all across the globe covering North Indian, Lebanese, European and Mexican cuisines. To complement the food menu they offer a delightful array of drinks as well, from heady cocktails to something a little stronger, their bar menu is vast and extensive. Pair the drinks with nibbles like, wild mushroom bitterballen, fish finger, beer chicken, wasabi prawn, hara bhara kebab, cigar roll, kebab meshwi, mutton seekh kebab, chicken croquettes, paneer malai tikka and falafel pocket. For second course go for, dum aloo, grilled river sole, four cheese pizza, ravioli primavera, Lutyens pie, spinach crepe, fish n chips, prawn goan curry, paneer shahi, penne arrabiata, beef burger, chicken chili pepper & brie cheese pizza, linguini prawn, tenderloin, subj khada masala, butter chicken and aubergine & ricotta cheese steak.
Round off the meal on a sweet note with citrus meringue pie, phirni, chocolate box, banoffee cheese cake, gulab jamun, tiramisu, chocolate volcano and triple chocolate brownie. Lutyens Cocktail House is designed in a specific way to reflect the refined masculine taste. It resembles part gentleman’s club and part fine dining restaurant. A brown chevron patterned floor runs across the restaurant glowing under the bright yellow lights gleaming from a moulded ceiling. The look is classy and elegant with a heavy masculine element visible throughout the room in, high backed leather chairs, dark grey and brown tones, clean stiff lines and walls covered in stunning vintage portraits of Lutyens Delhi. The restaurant is affordable and pocket-friendly so feel free to indulge and gear up for a walk down the memory lane.
