
If you are a regular at DLF Cyber Hub, there is a reason to cheer. Azure Hospitality (promoters of Mamagoto and Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi) has introduced a new extension to its flagship brand Mamagoto. The brand extension comes to you in the slightly more polished avatar of Mr. Mamagoto. Located exactly where the previous Mamagoto outfit used to be, Mr. Mamagoto, a tapestry of modern Asian flavours and addictive sauces, is a delight to the senses. Although most dishes have been conjured up with much detailing, there are some that pulse with inventiveness and vigour. For instance, the 'Poached Prawn with Chilli Lime Jelly', is a cold appetiser which marries the zesty essence of kaffir lime with the gooey texture of jelly cubes. It is clear that Mr. Mamagoto’s menu is anchored in various culinary worlds, mostly Asian. However, ingredients at the restaurant bounce from Asian (oyster mushrooms, kaffir lime, pak choi, bamboo shoot) to European (goat cheese, scamorza, truffles) in a flash, weaving the recipes with genuine artistry. You cannot miss the superbly balanced 'Ebi Tempura Sushi Roll' here, where the delicate prawns crush against your palate after having a shower in hot oil. Similarly ingenious is the 'Lamb Chop' dish that is teamed with pistachio sauce. Not only does it look like a painter’s palette with daubs of green pistachio sauce shining brightly against its black slate background, but is also a riot of flavours with smoked pimentos and grilled sweet potatoes. Even if you are stuffed to the gills, do not ditch the 'Hot Panookie' dessert, where a hot choco chip pan cookie is contrasted dramatically with scoops of ice cream.
