From the Olive team, this little bistro is delightfully quirky and offers a laidback ambience. Its Alice in Wonderland-esque decor complete with a chandelier made entirely of chinaware mischievously suggests that this is where the Red Queen might dine. Quirkiness aside, the food here is tasty bistro fare comprising salads, burgers, sandwiches, bagels, pasta and the famed Olive pizza. The waffles stand out as they are served loaded with maple syrup, berry compote and a swirl of whipped cream. The cocktail list is impressive.
Being on First Floor, never ever though of going. But today as there was waiting at Burma Burma, we though of having dinner here. And we had one of the best meals. Veg Platter was awesome. Pizza too good.
We chose this place for dinner last night!! The staff was very helpful and prompt. They serve in house bread with salsa dip as complimentary dish at the outset, which i found very yummm!!We had White Sauce Penne Pasta and Hulk Pizza (all veggies) in main course, but the taste was not much great. It can surely be improved. The ambience of the place is nice.Happy Explorin' ^_^
My friend suggested this place and wanted to try it. After we were seated, the server came smiling and told us about the menu. We decided different food preparations and he seemed happy. We then decided to order a bottle of wine and according to our taste and the food ordered wanted a Chardonnay (I am an ex-hotelier and know wine pairing). The server then suggested another wine which was expensive and did not suit our requirement, when we said that we would stick with the wine we selected, he made a face. After the food was served there was NO attention from the server whatsoever, to an extent that we had to pour our own wine throughout the dinner. Then we called for the cheque as our experience was not good, and wanted to do part settlement with cash and card. More than half of the amount was paid in cash and the rest was to be on card. There was another server who came to charge(not the one who was supposed to serve us) and punched in wrong (higher) amount, when questioned as to why is he charging more when we have already paid, he replied “I thought you paid in 1000/- rupee note” and I explained him that it is almost a year that the currency of the country has changed, to which he smirked and went away. When we called the Manager and told him about the incident, the only thing he could say was “it hasn’t happened before” there was not even an apology from his side, or perhaps he did not understand what was happening around him. Would never recommend anyone this place.
Went here with friends. Food was ok, ordered a Mediterranean pizza and few drinks. Due to lack of ambience in the outdoor seating, we left early.
In this blog post, I cover the ongoing Sizzlers and Beer Festival at Olive Bistro. For the uninitiated, Olive Bistro is the brainchild of famous restaurateur AD Singh who owns a whopping 35 F&B properties in the country, including popular restaurants like Lady Baga, Ek Bar, Guppy, etc.Nestled in the heart of Cyber Hub Gurgaon and spanning across 3,300 square feet, the bistro continues to offer the choicest European and Mediterranean dishes since January 26, 2014.An oasis of calm, the Olive Bistro is truly the kind of place you'd visit to unwind, especially after a long, arduous day at work. What appealed to me the most was the magnificent vintage decor inside the bistro and a chic courtyard seating outside, designed by none other than AD Singh's better half, Sabina Singh. The bistro can easily accommodate nearly 110 guests at any point in time. In addition to that, the all-day fare is fresh, hearty, and sensitively priced. The kitchen is in the capable hands of Chef Jeevan Panda, who hails from Orissa. I spoke to the chef in length about the ongoing Sizzlers and Beer festival at Olive Bistro. Here's all you need to know!Starting August this year, the menu has been expanded to include a variety of delicious sizzlers along with some amazing deals on beers. In all, there are six non-vegetarian and three vegetarian sizzlers to choose from.If you're a vegetarian, my recommendation will be the Red Harissa Marinated Cottage Cheese Sizzler, which is paired with Potato Crispies in Harissa sauce.Another sizzler worth mentioning is the Assorted Exotic Veggies which contains the goodness of soy, lemon, and butter and is served with Smoked Grilled Polenta Cake. I also enjoyed the stuffed bell peppers with couscous and Ratatouille. The non-vegetarian selection includes three of my favorites:- Spiced and Mushroom Stuffed Cornfed Chicken Breast Fillet sizzler with potato chunks, jus, carrot, yellow pepper, french beans and baby corn- Egg, Bacon, Sausage Pork/Chicken Sizzler in Spicy Tomato, Leeks Chili Salsa. - Fragrant Rosemary, Garlic Lamb Shank in red wine lamb jus, confit potato, broccoli, and zucchini.Seafood lovers must try the sizzler with Dill, Mustard, Pomfret Fish Fillet in Lemon Caper emulsion served with yellow squash, broccoli, spaghetti Aglio Olio. You could even go for the Mixed Seafood Sizzler Platter containing Jumbo Prawns, Pomfret Fish fillet, Calamari, mixed grill vegetables, and fries.Another cracker of a deal is that each time you order a sizzler, you get a bucket of five beers for just ₹ 899. I honestly couldn't have asked for more!So what are you waiting for? The festival is on till October 31, 2017. Go, make merry!

Flying dishes, talking animals, huge flowers, quirky décor. What does that remind you of? Okay I will give a hint. Wonderland. No? I am talking about Alice in wonderland. Why? Because her strange wonderland has burst into a hip new address. Olive Bistro! Its white washed interiors with kitsch burst of colours have found its way into the people’s heart. It feels like alice in wonderland theme party has taken over Greece. The restaurant is done in eccentric décor which actually makes it a lot more fun. The chandelier made out of hanging dishes is unique and huge pink pig statue in the outdoor seating area is amusing. The sittings placed in open are more often occupied than the inside of the restaurant. Big chalkboards hanging from the ceiling over the food counter displays dishes of the day.
The cuisine served at the restaurant is Mediterranean with soups and salads sprinkled with feta/goat’s cheese. Appetizers like borek, a filo wrapped feta cheese with greens parcel is offered. Balsamic mushrooms, lamb meat balls and glazed pork ribs are prepared with a skilled hand of the chef. The house offers variants of pizzas with every possible topping. Burgers and sandwiches are served too if you are more into hearty and fulfilling American fare. Full bodied pastas are hugely popular amongst the regulars. Rustic sauce tossed in the seafood with handful of pasta stays true to the Mediterranean menu. For mains king prawns & herbed gnocchi, river sole, chicken cassoulet anf baby lamb shoulder are exceptional. The fresh caught sole prepared in experienced way turns into pink flaky goodness. Olive bistro serves unique desserts too. OB signature profiteroles are filled with chocolate ice cream and drizzled with hazelnut & bitter chocolate. Sheer heaven! Their signature tiramisu is served in jars making it more fun to relish.
The bistro possesses a good wine list. The beverages ordered are of every sorts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Shooters, shakes, tea, aperitifs, coffee all are obtainable. The servers are very friendly and well informed. Olive bistro though located in cyber hub should be expensive but is actually reasonable enough. The quirky décor and vast wine/food menu attracts young crowd and loyal customers. It’s definitely worth visiting.
