Possibly one of the most influential restaurants to open in Delhi in this decade, Set’z offers five-star quality service and food in glamorous surroundings on top of the upmarket Emporio mall. Ever since It opened, it has demonstrated that standalones could take on the deluxe hotels and win without charging five star prices. Designed by Tokyo’s Super Potato group, this is a large good-looking restaurant with seven different kitchens all turning out different cuisines ranging from Oriental (Japanese, Thai and Chinese) to Indian (both North Indian and coastal cuisine) and good European. There’s a lunch buffet but dinner, when the restaurant heaves with trendies, is the time to go.
A nice place located at the famous DLF Emporio Mall on Nelson Mandela Road, Vasant Kunj. Had been seeing their advertisements/ Hoardings on the Mandela Road last year but dint get any opportunity visit. Happened to visit them on my mother's birthday as it is close to our residence. True to their advertisements, the drinks (mocktails, hard drinks etc) are a steal for the price. We had Jim Beam, Strawberry Blush n some Kiwi/ green apple mocktails. Their is a variety of choice in the food menu. We had Manglorean Prawn fry & Murgh Seekh Kebab for starters, Allepey Pomfret with rice & Tawa Murg with Naan in the main course. The dessert had to be cake, had ordered Trio Chocolate Cake - it was seemly amazing. The service was excellent. The ambience is great. They also redeem 'V Cloud Membership' Points. Worth a visit.....
We had Sushi & Thai and everything was just about perfect. The Sushi was one of the best I have had till date and the Thai curries were excellent as well. The red curry was slimly spicier and better than the green one. A must visit.
This place is on the third floor of DLF Emporio. We had the weekend buffet lunch there. Its a well kept place with great staff and ambience . Prices are on the higher side but are worth it. I would suggest if you go there then take some time to enjoy the whole experience. They have live counters for a lot of cuisines but what i especially like was their indian and chinese dishes having said that the other things like sushi and pasta were great too. The service is great and they have a good selection of wines and beer also. All in all its definitely a must visit place if youre in that part of town.
Ok place to take a break if you're shopping at DLF Emporio. We just had appetizers and coffe which were fine. But service was quite slow, especially to get the check. Had to ask multiple times.
Think SET'Z and you think of all the accolades gourmet food reviewers have showered on the outlet located in DLF Emporio Mall on Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj. Sadly, our experience yesterday did not live up to the hype created 100%. While the ambience is good, the low lights and the wooden flooring seemed to spoil it for us. Where we were seated, due to the wooden flooring whenever someone passed behind our seats the floor would shake and so would the swivel chairs we were sitting on. Felt like a mini tremor every time a server walked by which was very very annoying for a place touted to have a fantastic ambience. The music was too loud and that is something else which puts me off in a fine dining place as fine dining is meant for food, conversations and fine music! Not the usual stuff you hear at every other pub and that too so loud that you have to shout across the table to be heard. Moving on to the food and drinks, the most important part. In the mock tails we ordered the Strawberry cooler version which was great. It wasn’t overtly sweet as mock tails usually are overflowing with sugary syrups. Next we tried an Arabic drink infused with oranges and pears which my mother really enjoyed. For appetizers we ordered the murgh shole- red chilli marinated chicken with cashew nuts and Indian spices which was succulent but not as melt in the mouth as they could have been. Next we ordered the Pu-Pu platter. A bit taken aback by the name though now I know Pu-Pu means a tray consisting of an assortment of small meat and sea-food appetisers. Our Pu-Pu platter had portions of Chicken pockets, Lamb, Fish and Prawns. This platter was a feast both for the eyes and the taste buds, so full marks for this. Next came the main course where we ordered costal cuisine- Mutton stew followed by appams, egg appams and a Malabar parantha. The appams were as fluffy as clouds and were totally melt in the mouth. The Malabar parantha was average but the mutton stew was simply fabulous and flavoursome. We also ordered Chicken peppered breasts from the European section but they were so-so (flat, not succulent and for the price didn’t come with a portion of bread or side to eat with). At last the time for desserts arrived and we ordered the signature and much talked about tiramisu. Yes this one did exceed expectations and is one of the best tiramisu we’ve had so far. We also tried the parsi kulfi but it was crystallised so we returned it. We also tried the in-house gelato flavours of rose-almond (which was overtly sweet so I would not recommend it at all if you don’t like anything which is too sweet) and Walnut which was ok. All in all we went with very high expectations some of which were exceeded, so because of the hype and what we really encountered I’d rate my experience as average. It often makes we wonder if the dining experience for the gourmet food reviewers is different to create hype and then live off it.

Setup and Seating Arrangements
The interiors are done in brown tones running from the ceiling to the floor. The ceiling is my favourite part. It's a trellis of wood running from one end to the other. The furniture is sleek and edgy. Food stations are set up on the benches on the side of the restaurant for buffets. The evening is the best time to visit the place when it is trending with the upper class. The outdoor sitting area is the best part of the restaurant. Intimate and romantic it seems like touching the sky. Each table is lit by lanterns throwing a golden glow around. The staff is as polished and attentive as they are supposed to be.
Get spoilt with the choices they offer you
The restaurant is good at what it does and that's serving multi cuisine. The menu brags Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian and European. The soups and salads are made up with fresh ingredients. The soups have Oriental, Italian and Indian influence. Hints of Chilli Oil, Kaffir Lime and Basil running through the aromatic broth. Fresh rocket leaves mixed with Goat Cheese and dressed with sweet Balsamic Vinegar are fantastic. Chinese appetizers and dim sums have found a place in the menu too. The Chinese specialty Peking Duck braised in plum juice is offered and eaten with great enjoyment. Kebab and Mezze Platter which signifies Northern India can be shared around the table.
While you are happily appreciating starters, Chefs in the kitchen will be preparing masterpieces for the main course. You can also ask Chefs to prepare you something off the menu and you will be delighted by the selection. The European section has recently caught seafood and lamb chops done is a most beautiful pink way. Thai curries are aromatic and also therapeutic. Mutton simmered in coconut milk is the Indian way to go. Divine! For your sweet delight mister, house makes homemade gelato in various flavours.
