It must have happened to you before where you indulge in something with great sceptic and surprise finds you when your experiment pays off tenfold. But places like ‘Tawak’ changed all that. The restaurant is very popular with families and large group of diners who are looking for good food being served in a pleasing and approachable surroundings. Take the flight of stairs to the first floor of H-224, Sector 63 and step into a room that is simply yet classily decorated. The locality of Tawak is not very appealing but inside, the matter is entirely different.
Tawak enjoys a varied menu that features not only a good selection of Pan Asian cuisine but also has a great preference for North Indian and Mughlai cuisine. Length of the menu is wide and exhaustive, so one is spoilt for choices. Begin however with appetizers like, mutton boti kebab, crispy water chestnut, dahi ke kebab, Cantonese steam fish, stuffed tangri kebab, tofu three pepper sauce, kasundi mahi tikka, Thai sesame chicken egg net spicy mayo, galouti kebab ulte taw aka paratha, bulgogi wings, achaari lasooni bhuna paneer and double fried crispy lamb. Dig into the Indian curries and Oriental gravies with help of flatbreads or noodles or rice, whatever your heart desires. Eat, steamed fish in butter oyster sauce, chaamp lababdar, Sichuan style chili cottage cheese, palak mushroom ke kofte, matki ka murgh, wok tossed hoisin vegetables and shredded lamb in hot bean sauce.
Even the final sweet course carries the mark of the chef’s genius and entices the diners with a multitude of picks. Lychee with ice cream, gulab jamun, tub tim grob, masala chai ice cream, darsan with ice cream and kesar badam phirni are simply lip-smacking. You cannot be more wrong if you assume that Tawak is in anyway expensive, it’s highly reasonable. Tawak is set in sprawling proportions, done tastefully in hues of off white and deep lovely red to liven it up. Interiors are attractively designed by keeping the furnishings soothing yet chic. On the evenings when Noida’s weather behaves, sit in their balcony area to admire the gorgeous view of the city.
