The monochromatic décor – walls, upholstery, table linen are all off-white – recalls a bygone age in this absolutely stunning heritage hotel that deserves to be the toast of the town, yet remains resolutely hidden because of its location in a charming but largely forgotten part of Delhi. There is mulligatawny soup, vichyssoise and consommé that call to mind the days of the British Raj, and a grand mixed grill that is probably one-of-a-kind in the city. It is an inspired choice to take visitors from England and the small Indian menu appeals to all tastes.
