A chilled out, modern Chinese eatery, with a quirky mix of contemporary mirror and gothic structures has spacious seating is a pleasant treat for foodies after a while. Serving toothsome Chinese grub, some of the must try items from the menu include truffle edamame dim sums, pork belly, dragon rolls and chilli garlic noodles.
I have been to this place twice. Its a very nice and a quiet place with soft music. Love the food here ! Especially the chinese. They have this authentic taste in all their dishes on the menu. We loved the springs rolls , fried rice and manchurian over here.
If expectations and outcomes were to determine a rating then I suppose I should rate this place a 5 out of 5. But then if my expectations were minimal and were barely met..? We were looking for a place that served early dinner and Twist was one of the places open. We walked in, ordered a few drinks and dinner. We were the only guests and it seemed to me that the cocktails took forever to be served. While the mock-tails were okay, the vodka based Watermelon Fizz was disappointing. The dim-sums were good, but the chef forgot to add salt to the Goan Fish curry; the rest of the food was okay, not exceptional, but no complaints either. There are five or six similar paintings of a woman with many fishes all over her face on the wall; I thought there may be some relevance and asked the staff, but they did not know, that was just an observation. The restaurant adds Service Charges to the bill, which is against the law. When I pointed it out, they said they will remove it, but that is not the point. Any restaurant that is trying to make a quick buck illegally should not be supported.
Visited for a business dinner. Booked through EazyDiner which promised a 20% discount plus a drink free. The restaurant refused the free drink. Beer was not available. We ordered a non veg sampler for each of us. It was cold and unappetising. At the time of the bill, the promised discount was also not given as the samplers were apparently not on the regular menu. The steward knew about our booking at the time of placing the order but didn’t bother to tell us that what we were ordering was not in the deal. When we came out, we were surprised to see a promotional board saying there were free shots with the non veg samplers. We went inside to ask why we were not given the free shots...the manager said they forgot 😀 Amazing bunch of cheats 😀😀
Visited the place after a long hiatus. The menu and decor has changed and it is good to see smiling and friendly staff. We ordered vegetarian fried rice and lamb in ginger sauce. The lamb was prepared really well, with a lovely aroma and subtle taste of ginger. The stir fried vegetables were good too. Food was served fast, service was good. Will be back definitely for sure.
The presentation of food, the ambiance of the place, the smells and aroma and the warmth of the person serving the food, there are many dimensions to a dining experience that make it good. While many of the above criteria were met at this restaurant, the dish we ordered, fried chicken with cashew nuts, could be a notch better in terms of taste. But to be fair, we didn’t order much to judge a place for all its menu. The cocktails were decent, did not have any excess sugar issue which seems to be the problem almost everywhere else! Had a dark rum based cocktail called champito which was mixed with wine. Not bad! Loved the presentation of food but almost every table had the same presentation no matter which dish was being served. As a person with an eye for aesthetics, I see a lot, from the crockery, the napkin, the placement of cutlery and the plating of course. You can do a little better in plating in terms of offering variety. All in all, its a decent place, does not have blaring music (you can actually have a conversation) and might make a good choice for a date!
Ever since Delhi has taken a modern overturn, no cuisine is left untouched by its 21st century facelift. From gourmet pizzas to butter chicken spaghetti to gulab jamun brulee, a contemporary makeover has been given to all and under the watchful eye of passionate chefs, Delhi’s culinary scene has been invaded by modern gastronomy. Lately Pan Asian cuisine has joined the bandwagon by coming up with some fun quirky eateries that focuses on the contemporary side of Pan Asian cuisine. In the trendy food district of Cyber Hub is ‘TWIST’, a laid back modern eatery with an interesting Asian menu and attractive funky interiors. There is live music to keep you occupied between courses and fills up any lull in the conversation nicely. It’s a popular place for all kinds of age groups.
TWIST practices a wonderful Pan Asian menu that targets Chinese cuisine mostly. They have an extensive wine library to go with menu that pairs with the dishes beautifully. If you are a wine connoisseur then you will have a delightful time dipping into the collection. Menu is only marginally expensive so you can indulge with a free mind starting with the first course that features, Asian chicken satay, pork ribs, hawker style potato, lamb pot stickers, jade fish, dragon roll, tiger prawns Beijing style, tofu crunch, crispy calamari, orchid mushroom, green papaya salad, kernel corn, chicken 5 pepper, TWIST chicken wings and kimchi tofu. For second course try, tofu stack, kung pao chicken, coconut green, chilli ginger lamb, fiery prawn, king kong beans, pepper tenderloin, Singapore noodle, devil’s chicken angry sauce, silken route and citrus yu fish.
A trio of crème brulee will be an ideal finish to such a fabulous meal. Interiors of TWIST are quite attractive with eye-catching Asian paintings and oriental wallpapers. The restaurant is dimly lit adding a cosy intimate glow to the formal dining space. Mood lighting is sought after by the couples a lot. Families and foodies come in often to get their Chinese fix. If you happen to be part of a large group, ask to be seated in their private dining area, which is charmingly decorated with chandelier. On pleasing Delhi evenings seek a table in their outdoor space. TWIST will do perfectly for those looking for a low-key meal with a loved one, especially if they have a deep hankering for Chinese.
