It is time for some Jamai adore! It is a dilemma which most often the sons-in-law goes through when it comes to Jamai Shashthi - the son-in-law's day. The weather is really not that conducive to having a wholesome meal which often will comprise of a wide variety of vegetarian dishes, minimum 2 to 3 types of non-vegetarian varieties, a plate full of desserts and the choicest of fruits with mango ruling the show there. In spite of the sweltering heat, one cannot deny the invitation neither can leave one morsel back on the plate as it is Jamai Shashthi. The day when the Sosur bari or the in-laws go out of their way to pamper the son-in-law. After Poila Baishakh or the Bengali new year's day and before the Ilish season comes in, this is the big celebration time for city restaurants and hotels. First Innings, the all-day dining in Stadel has come up with veg and non-veg Thalis for this Jamai Shashthi for both lunch and dinner. Ampora Sarbat as the welcome drink, the traditional Fruit Platter with Mango, litchis and others, starters Bhaja or the fried stuff, Rice and Luchi, the eternal all time favourite Narkol Diye Cholar Dal and then choices of veg and non-veg dishes.
This can be a real challenge to finish this meal trying out all the items in the menu. On the day of Jamai Shashthi, there is a special buffet at the all-day dining Alfresco. Welcome drinks, Soups, dimer devil as starters and then the lavish main course. 7 vegetarian dishes, chicken, mutton, prawn in non-veg section, 5 varieties of rice with wide options to choose from desserts too. Local favourite Phuchka, Patishapta can be availed at the live counter.

This is a new entrant in the Bengali food restaurants in Kolkata. Award-winning Bengali food restaurant Sonar Tori in Raichak on the Ganges has already made its name in Bengali food and this is a branch of the same under 'Exec Chef Sumanta Chakraborti'. So no wonder for Jamai Sashthi, they have some eternal favourites in the unlimited buffet for both lunch and dinner with free meals for mothers-in-laws'.
A Bengali meal created especially for the son-in-law in the pan Indian restaurant will have the offer both for lunch and dinner which is unputdownable.
A different take from the traditional menu, there are some special dishes which have been planned for the son-in-Laws' along with a live retro music for both 18th and 19th June. Prawn On Toast, English FishFingers, Prawn Newburg, Beckti Florentine, Chicken Paprika, Lamb Chops, Lamb Goulash, Meat Lasagne, Cheese Cake, Baked Alaska and Caramel Custard will be a different take from traditional Bengali dishes.
