Fancy a perfect date night with some candle light? The top Valentine meals are here!

Feast of the Saint Valentine is celebrated on the 14th of February every year and like every time, this time will be special. The celebration begins 7 days ahead of Valentine’s day and the whole idea is certainly more romantic than ever. This is a rather commercial way to show love to your loved one and feast on a meal that will last in your memory for quite some time. To put in simple words, some more public display of love, more roses, more dessert on the lunch or dinner table. The Valentine demands it and it is your duty to make sure you do it. Check out these restaurants where you can relish on a romantic meal in town.

Plancha, Camp Area, Pune

This is one of those underrated restaurants that has totally upped the food game in the city. If you have not been here already, now is very well a great time to do so. Apart from the delicious Burgers and Sandwiches on the menu, the house rolled Pastas and some Modern European mains are outstanding and must eats.

The Pan Seared Chicken Breast with Pumpkin Purée, some charred onion and asparagus is great. The quaint bistro has a nice setting and rather convenient for a young couple to share a great meal at.

Malaka Spice

The everlasting favourite place of everyone in town is always a cheery experience and during Valentine’s it surely comes back into the feel.

The outside seating already has candle lights and the colourful lanterns which look great. The favourites here include Top Hats, those crumbly pastry cups with Vietnamese inspired Chicken Filling. The Green and Red Thai Curry are exceptionally great and you will surely dream about it weeks after.

The seasonal menus are great too, they are inspired by their own farm’s ingredients and they are a treat if you want to indulge in something fresh and homegrown. Do not miss out on the Jaggery Icecream for dessert!

Farzi Cafe, Kalyani Nagar, Pune

Thinking of eating some overly fancy food? Molecular gastronomy at Farzi Cafe is a saviour.

The menu offers very classic dishes which are done in a daringly different way, like the Mini Raj Kachori with some Okra Salad and Chutney Foam.

Yeah, because you are bored with that traditional chutney. To take it to the next level, you have the Appams which are served with a variety of Mutton and Vegetarian preparations inspired from Mangalore. It is highly recommended that you reserve a table on the terrace floor because the yellow lights around the green shrubs and plants look great and have total Valentine’s feels.

Dario’s, Koregaon Park, Pune

Enjoyed too much meat on the New Year’s? Shift to this premium Italian restaurant that offers a great selection of wines and cocktails as well.

The hand-rolled pastas and the house-made pizzas are delicious, and if you want something more, they even have the Classic Italian mains which are very inspiring and will take you to the lakeside in Italy.

The Cannelloni Al Forno is one delicious pasta that is stuffed with mushrooms, spinach and oodles of cheese baked with some tomato sauce atop. Make sure you try the Classic Tiramisu here. 9 out of 10 times you will be lucky to spot some peacocks in the backyard of the restaurant, it is such a visual treat.

This restaurant has been the favourite for many reasons: it is a vintage restaurant with theme and menu inspired by Greece and the European legends.

The menu offers almost everything, an array of dishes made with Chicken to Seafood.

The highly recommended ones though are, Barras which are these fish fillets with spinach and cheese and Saxon that is the oven roasted duck with herby orange sauce.

Savya Rasa, Koregaon Park, Pune

The very true South Indian cuisine that is inspired from the various parts of all the South Indian states is only available here. The restaurant not only houses some of the best articles, vessels and accessories from the Kerala and Karnataka but also is a quaint house of somewhere down south. The Thalassery Meen Biryani is our favourite that comes with the nicely cooked fish and the masalas and flavours which are true to the cuisine and inspired from the South. The ambience and feels of the place will transport you to a rather vintage house which is dimly lit and nicely set up, a perfect spot for a Valentine’s date.

Tales & Spirits

This is another Vegetarian bistro that took the city by a storm. The menu is quite nice and it will remind you of all things Lebanese and Middle Eastern. The color tones of the interiors are very much sea green, teal, whites and some blues, some good mood-lifting that happens.

The inspiration is surely those countries and a lot of dishes are made with Extra virgin olive oil, olives and all that’s Greek and delish. For instance, the Tagine cooked veggies with Herbed Butter Rice is something very simple but really satisfies the soul like nothing. The other dishes include Pizzas and Calzones stuffed with Italian and Greek fillings which are served piping hot and some good amount of cheese inside.

Frangipani, Ambrosia Resort & Spa, Pune

Too bored to go out in the city? Drive to this special place in the outskirts instead. It not only offers some outstanding views amidst the greens but also uplifts the mood and makes it a whole lot more romantic. The setup is housed under these row houses which look great and remind you of an artisan restaurant in the Himalayas.

The menu is equally vibrant and delicious with everything offered from North Indian to South Indian cuisines.

The appetizers are brilliantly finished and they taste great, the South Indian meals are really well done, with Appams and Stews or the Neer Dosa and Mutton Curry.

The desserts are nice too, the top picks include Cheesecake and Baklava.

Even though it is not present at one of those popular locations, this restaurant has still managed to pull off the crowd from the central city. There is no different in Valentine’s week as they will be prepping up some great dishes and desserts too.

The menu offers a mix of Modern Indian and Classical European dishes and you will surely find a sweet spot between both the cuisines.

Koji, Conrad Pune, Pune

Opulence, luxury and some outstanding Asian food in the city: make sure all points are ticked for your Valentine’s dinner date.

The place is known for some mind-blowing sushi, that is not just worthy of Instagramming but eating!

The appetizers include a good mix of duck and seafood dishes but our heart melts when the chef rolls out the Puff Pastry with Mango Crème inside it. It is just unbelievable great and it will take you to those streets of Thailand where street food is a big thing. Not to mention, the Asian curries are truly authentic and they ask for some sincere love, care and attention: just like your Valentine?
