14 Feb, 2017 by Mini Ribeiro

Romance is in the air on Valentine’s Day and to celebrate love, an exotic meal in a romantic ambience seems the best choice. But what is an evening without the right cocktail to set the mood? Naturally then, no romantic Valentine's Day dinner is complete without a great cocktail. Restaurants in Mumbai are going all out to wow guests with unique and quirky cocktails – with the right ingredients laced with an aphrodisiac touch, pink and bold red hues and of course an appealing presentation. From bespoke sparkling cocktails to creamy pink tinted ones, there are many unusual ones on offer, catering to every palate. So make the most of the variety available this Valentine’s Day.

Love Martini

Crushed strawberries and mint syrup are shaken up with vodka, and a splash of cranberry juice is used to make this red-hot cocktail look enticing. To spice up your evening further, the rim is made up of a mix of brown sugar and red chillies to tingle your taste buds a wee bit more. Available at A Bar, Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, this cocktail is irresistible and bound to set you in the right spirits.

Cupid's Tale

Raasta at Khar Mumbai serves this concoction with Bailey's and vodka along with banana and orange juice. The flavours are well-balanced, and although sweet, this creamy cocktail gives you a heady feeling as you embark upon an exciting evening with your loved one.

Lover's Blush

Sparkling wine with a dash of kiwi and strawberry crush is just the apt drink to add a zing to your romantic evening. This delicate and fizzy cocktail at Lima, BKC proves to be the perfect choice even for the first-time drinker and is an excellent way to start the evening.

Muskalandar

This unique rum-based cocktail at Dishkiyaaon, BKC, armed with muskmelon juice and rose syrup, looks appealing when poured into a glass and is equally tantalising to the palate. The spiced rum adds the right element of zing and is a great way to start your evening.

Heart Burn Martini

No, this dessert cocktail does not make your heart burn but instead skip a beat. This sweet cocktail is the grand finale to a great evening at Olive Bar and Kitchen, Bandra. A blend of chocolate, coffee, and cream liqueur, served for two in shot glasses covered in chocolate and placed in crushed ice, this potent cocktail is ideal to end a romantic meal.

So sip some vibrant cocktails as you celebrate another day of love and togetherness.
