Top 5 Most Romantic Restaurants For Valentine's Day In Mumbai

Restaurants that are romantic for a perfect Valentine's Day dinner in Mumbai

17 Jan, 2018 by Roxanne Bamboat

You might find it cheesy and unworthy of a celebration but even the most staunch non-believers end up frantically looking for a restaurant worthy of that special Valentine's Day meal. It could be a birthday, anniversary or just an occasion to celebrate and any occasion demands some romance around the 14th of February. These are some of our top picks where you can be assured not just a great meal but a romantic touch as well.

The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel has many restaurants worthy of a celebration but none of them has the air of romance quite like the Souk does. With its stunning view of The Gateway of India and the Arabian Sea and its subtle lighting to ensure a fair bit of privacy makes you feel like you are dining in style. The Middle Eastern-inspired fare is another feather in their cap with mezze and mains that rival any other joint.

This rooftop restaurant at the Intercontinental Hotel with its glamorous view of Marine Drive and the Queen's Necklace is possibly the most romantic of them all. It is at this one restaurant where you feel like you have captured the essence of Mumbai with just one aerial view. The all-white decor, lounges like music, canapés and cocktails add to its charm.

One would not expect an Oriental restaurant to turn on the charm but Hakkasan seems to ooze all sorts of romance. Skip the main dining with its intrusive electric blue lighting and opt to sit close to the bar where it is much darker, cosier and far more romantic. The dim lighting and soft music add to its charm but it is bright enough for you to see your food which goes without saying, is delicious.

This might be the closest you will get to a Michelin Meal in Mumbai where renowned Chef Vineet Bhatia has an exquisite Indian menu. The food on your plate is romance itself which is skillfully presented and the best possible representation of Modern Indian cuisine in Mumbai. Its tucked away in the corner at The Oberoi Hotel but boasts of another breathtakingly stunning view of Mumbai and the Arabian Sea. It is one of the few restaurants that are dramatically different at both lunch and dinner and yet equally romantic at both the times.

Le Cirque

Andheri East is not exactly mushrooming with romantic restaurants but then it is home to one of the very best in Mumbai. Le Cirque at The Leela Hotel is a version of the iconic New York restaurant. It is quite classy and serves some elegant fare that is ideal for a romantic meal out. The service is exemplary and they go out of their way to ensure you feel special. This is a date night winner.
