Karlton de Souza is known for his steaks on the tourist strip, has now upped the culinary avatar at the spanking new Bottlejack Bistro. Despite the eyesore of the ongoing construction of the bridge, the interior with its pleasant modern lines is a place for those who appreciate good food. Enter the non-air-conditioned lower level and let the expanse enlighten your senses through its clean lines as one ascends up to the air-conditioned area. The full-glassed enclosure has comfort level seating spelling a casual avatar; just right for a fine dine palate drooling effect. Start off with the 'Vietnamese Chicken Skewers' with Sambal and Peanut Sauce', succulent 'Morsels' indeed. For the vegetarians, the 'Cheese Bruschetta with caramelized onion' and 'Fig Jam' on crispy platforms hit the spot. Keep space for the slow-cooked 'Pork Ribs' and 'Classic Beef Stroganoff'. However, for sweetened bliss ask for the 'Salted Caramel and Chocolate Tart' to sign off an experiential meal.
The lay out is really nice and a large eating /sitting space.Great food ..very innovative kitchen.lovely mixes ..and reactive service..thank you .
The ambience is good but overall the food was ok. I wasn't very satisfied with the taste n specially the dessert.
The stand out dish amongst the many we had was the Mutton Balls. It had a spicy feel and was tongue tingling. The prawns in white wine too was a nice dish. Cocktails were good.
The food as always was good at Bottlejack. The waiter was attentive and the chef very accommodating to our request for a special preparation due to food allergies.
We had had our eyes on this restaurant for sometime now but the time was never right!! And then...... this evening suddenly my husband says let go to Bottlejack Bistro! Ambience- very good. Casual. Outdoor & an indoor air conditioned section. A drop down screen in the outdoor section was screening a football match. And the same could be used for a small conference meet, or to host a private party. Sunday nights they have live music playing & every alternate Sunday they have a brunch with live music. Wheelchair friendly- no. Food- very good. A Prawn Festival was on with a variety of tiger prawns, king prawns. They have a variety of seafood, chicken, beef & pork dishes on the menu. Service-good. Parking- they are located off a highway, but have a private parking space. Valet parking- no. Overall we had a very good evening.
