An open-air rooftop that serves some absolutely delectable middle-eastern delicacies and refreshing cocktails and mocktails to quench your thirst is how one could sum up Izgara. Providing a breath-taking view of the Candolim Beach, be pampered by waiters dressed in Middle Eastern garb, to usher you to glass topped tables set amidst palms. The cane-clad chairs add its own charm and with the soft lilting Arabian music, you can be lulled into a feel of mystic beauty right in the busy heart of Candolim. Start off with an Izgara Colada Tequila which comprises of tomato juice, fresh lime mix, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco with a slit green chilli. The menu has a variety of preparations with many of them grilled in the open kitchen from where the flavours enhance the appeal. The Kebbeh Milki is a pyramid shaped ground lamb cone with crushed wheat and Tahir pine which is soaked in milk and stock for a long time and it hits the spot. You can also opt for the Izgara Hummus which has a variety of 5 kinds of flavoured Hummus along with grilled chicken, pickled chili/cucumber/carrot/ red cabbage, onion wedges, spicy chilli sauce and extra virgin oil.
Passing by I noticed the rooftop, so decide to come here. 😎 Entering the hotel I felt a little wary as all the staff were sitting around talking so I didn’t know if it was okay to head on up, but did anyways. We were greeted straight away by the lovely servers, they were so friendly and polite they didn’t seem forceful and they left us alone to check the menu out, there is a great variety Indian / Asian cuisine and also lots of vegetarian options and starters so decided this was the place to be 💯 The food is really nice. Steak (being real beef) served with mash potato and side salad. And the sizzling chicken dish they both were presented really well, I felt as though the sauce / jus (an jus - French term meaning juice = light gravy) was a little heavy on the chicken as I was just expecting a plain chicken dish, I felt it was too thick. Maybe there can be on option for the sauce/Jus to be on the side or let customers know there is sauce on the sizzling chicken. The vegetables were so nice, and traveling for so long it was so good to have a few veggies 🙌🏼 and they had a lot of crunch to them. Really nice. The service was very professional, laid back yet very attentive. Abi and the team were efficient and helpful. And anything you needed they were happy to get. Nothing was to much trouble for them. The table we choose to pick was a little dark and immediately they presented a candle on the table without even having to ask🔥 The music and ambiance is incredible. A really chill out vibe like you could sit there all night and just relax and the staff leave you to enjoy your time here. The rooftop overlooking the city is a nice touch. Be warned though, the desert “Coco platter” is sooo filling. And for extreme chocolate lovers. Lots of brownies involved and more chocolate would definitely feed about 4 people. Overall had a really nice experience. Fans are an option to on the rooftop but was not needed as we had a lovely mild breeze hitting us.
Food was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was great. Watching the world go by with a few cocktails was all you could ask for. Staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend
We had had drinks previously and decided to come back for dinner. The view and ambience are amazing but a very slow service let it down. We waited ages for drinks, menus and our meals. The food was okay but not as good as many other restaurants which are much cheaper. You are obviously paying for the setting. The staff were polite and friendly but rather disorganized. I was really looking forward to our evening but was disappointed overall.
Situated above the Acacia hotel. Once out of the lift there is a flight of stairs to climb so could be a little tricky if you're unsteady on your legs. A great place to watch the sunset with a drink or two. We grabbed a table and ate there, I had a chicken breast sizzler which was amazing. There was also live entertainment. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Amazing food & drinks Just head out for sunset. Ideal time would be at 5 in the evening. They have this big sofa at the front where u can spread your legs and enjoy the food with an amazing view. I believe in any restaurant the attitude of the staff matters a lot and they do it the best. Great hospitality.(Mr.Suman specifically). Came for an hour & ended up spending more than 4 hours.
Izgara is a Hotel Dining located at Acacia Hotel, Goa. It specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. The food served here never fails to impress its diners.
The cost for two is expensive but goes well with the food quality and service it provides.
