Touted as one of the most exclusive restaurants in Goa, this place is for those who love the art of pampering. Situated at the lobby level, it is named after Goa’s first executive chef at the Taj Mahal, Mumbai in 1939 – fondly known as Masci. Sit in air conditioned comfort, or at the verandah overlooking green acres, the place provides a perfect arena with a small recess for the maestro's gastronomic delights. Start off with the the forrest mushroom cappuccino with drizzled truffle oil to set the tone. Move onto the chef’s interpretations of Masci's chorizo terrine. A hidden fact; this was one of Masci’s favourite dish. This restaurant oozes old world charm and sophistication and is definitely a must do on one’s visit to the sunny shores of Goa.
This is a very nice fine dining restaurant, the food is good. It is very expensive and more formal than others by local standard. The service is good. We went on a few occasions during a trip each time it lacked other guests - ambience. The same music even played each evening. Very good selection of local wines. Indian wine is quite good. For a resort that is booked out why does guests not eat here? Resort should do something about this.
We ate here 3 times inuring our 2 week stay. The food is excellent and the restaurant is more fine dining atmosphere than the main hotel restaurant. The menu is more limited. All the food is freshly prepared. The fish is especially good, especially the fish curry. The kitchens, as the rest of the hotel are pristine. The wines are good. we stuck with Indian wines as they were much cheaper and reasonable quality. ( NZ & Oz wines mid range and 3 x UK price) Prices less than UK fine dining but much more than other local eateries.
We ate here on our last evening and it was a very good choice. More formal than most other restaurants in the area, it has an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs, who were very attentive at our table, prepare and cook the food. Very good service from all staff, the authentic Goan fish dishes were so tasty and enjoyable. However my daughter had the steak dish which she thought was superb. Good wine list and nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.
This is by far the best restaurant on offer at the Taj Exotica resort. The choice and quality of food produced here is second to none. It has an open style kitchen prep area, so you can watch the chefs at work under the watchful eye of the main man! Service very efficient and pleasant. Dined there a couple of times, so plenty of choice to have different options each time. Lots of local dishes to try as well as other Indian and international fare. Would highly recommend for your stay...or non resident also.
The restaurant is located at the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Goa. Beautiful design. Great service. Simply fantastic goan cuisine. Good wine list. If you want to enjoy authentic goan food, you must visit this restaurant.
