The breezy salty sea air of Goa lifts up your hair and swirls you in a soft hug. And what better way to soak in this lovely feeling than with couple of chilled beers and perky Goan music. If you like the way we think then we recommend you to head over to a fun Goan tavern where you can experience the true Goan hospitality with great regional food. Just opposite Taj Holiday Village in Candolim lies ‘Soi’, a lively chilled out space designed to put you at ease straight away. Soi is more of a modern Goan tavern attached to a nightclub below where one can enjoy a meal before the party. The fun musical vibe of the place draws many tourists to Soi in hopes to get some local flavour. The name ‘Soi’ translates to ‘grated coconut’, without which Goan cuisine is incomplete. Soi is one of the few places in North Goa that deals exclusively in authentic Goan cuisine. The menu showcases the Saraswat, Christian Goan & inspired Goan dishes, a rarity in Goan gastronomy scene. Seafood preparations are worth looking into. Live music every night elevates your dining experience at Soi tenfold. Although a full-fledged bar menu accompanies the grub selection, we ask you to combine your meal with traditional Goan drinks, Trivali or Sol Kadi. Toss back a few appetizers with it such as, beef chilly fry, mackerel cutlet, veg balchao chops, prawns paozine, stuffed squids and Goan carfreal roll. Stuff yourself further with, butter garlic lobster, chicken vindaloo, red beef curry, alsane tonak, crab xec-xec, tomato bhendi curry, shark xacutti, Soi prawns, masala fry pomfret and squid ambotik.Scoop some chorizo pulao to mop up the gravies. Goans love their desserts and leave no chance to dig into their favorites like, bebinca, caramel pudding, alle belle and badam kulfi, all of which are offered at Soi. Sit in their open-air seating in the verandah outside with upbeat Goan music swaying you towards relaxation. The vibe here is uplifting, exciting and fun. Snap some Insta-worthy pictures with the bright red scooter placed at the entrance. As you move further inside you will be met with a charming good-looking dining space comprising of wooden matted chairs, eye-catching colorful wallpaper and large plate glass windows pouring the sunlight in. During the evenings, lighting is turned low to encourage a romantic atmosphere.
