If one asks the affable Sergio Dias why the name Zeebop, he will say that it was due to the famous Santana, the Mexican America rock guitarist famous in the Sixties. Zeebop! was his 11th studio album, and perchance Sergio was impressed by it to create a record of his own – this highly rated restaurant. Music and food with dance are the at the ethos of this place. Crouched over swept and flattened white sand, it has perforated mud lanterns bobbing overhead and a hammock between the trees. The rumble of the waves and the thatched roof add to the charm of rustic Goa. Seafood by the sea is the way to go with the Batter-Fried Calamari or even the Crispy Crab-stuffed Pappadums. Wash it off with a beer and head on over for track two with Santana in the background – Prawn Peri Peri, or the Red Snapper with Butter Garlic, or even the Fish Kababs. Wait for the third and final track, Sergio’s famous Fish Curry and Rice to end the evening on a high note.
This restaurant is a big big rip off in South Goa!! The taxi drivers recommended this place for dinner and so we gave it a try. The staff were hostile and service not great! They displayed an array of fresh sea creatures which they promised to cook fresh and the food was anything but edible except for the fried crispy squid! The portions were small, and the bill was a whooping 29K for a group of 15! The ambience is not invting and we highly regretted visitng this place! I think they should really change their name from Zee-Bop to Rip-Off!!!
Loved stuffed pompfret and masala prawns fry ! Beautiful view .. Scenic beauty ! Its a shack type of feel but proper restaurant.
The seafood in both of the above was excellent , fresh fish caught that day and cooked to perfection
A great place to hang out by the beach. The service is quick and you won't have to wait too long for your food. The fish was fresh and their portions were good too. We tried the calamari, fried prawns, king fish and prawns curry with rice. It definitely didn't disappoint. The prices are a bit on the higher side as I think they are geared towards the foreign tourists.
Perfectly located in quiet Utorda, one of the most peaceful beaches around. Cheese garlic naan is a staple like Goa and no place unlike Zeebop to try it out! Tandoori prawns- awesome
Any lover of music and Goan nightlife will find Zeebop a perfect addition to his itinerary. This open beachside lounge thrives on good music and an indulgent patron. Zeebop is located right on the beach so dress accordingly. The sound of waves and sight of lanterns bobbing with the breeze seem like a lovely synchronized dance. The vibe is lively but romantic occasions like Special Occasion, depends how you want to perceive it. Zeebop presents a pocket-friendly multi-cuisine menu that will make your evening even more special. Nurse a beer while savoring the ambience, this is what Zeebop is all about.
