One of the popular vegetarian restaurants in Hyderabad, the restaurant is located above a popular supermarket in Begumpet and has a casual but comfortable setting. Jalpaan is a pure vegetarian place, and the dishes here range from traditional to modern and experimental. The lunch and dinner buffet is extremely popular with a lot of items included at an economical price. One of the highlights of the buffet is the elaborate chaat counter dishing out panipuri, samosa chaat and other delicacies. The a-la-carte portion of the menu is well worth exploring at Jalpaan. The extensive menu is multi-cuisine, with Indian, Chinese as well as European food available. The cheese-laden 'Malai Broccoli' and the stuffed mushroom dish 'Lazeez Kumbh' are popular among the Indian food, while the 'Basil Pesto Pizza' and 'Funghi Risotto' are my choices from the Italian menu. They have a range of biryani and pulavs that can be tried. Among the desserts, their 'Litchi Ke Tehri' and 'Paan Mousse' warrants attention.
The food served here is of good quality. I loved their paneer kuchran. The service is bit slow and the price is definitively on the higher side.
The Hotel doesnt have anything south indian. The sambar served is atrocious. The Rice is not properly boiled. When asked for pickles, they could not provide varieties. The refill is being delayed. No proper cutlery. No spoons, plates and when asked they suggest a rack where these are non- existent. However, Roti, cutlet and few North Indian curries are fine. Being a hard core Telugu, thoroughly disappointed. For a price of Rs 600, please visit Taj at JH, for hot n fresh dosas, north indian curries, rotis, continental food plus an array of sweets n chutnies.
We went for dinner a couple of days back. The pricing was slightly more than the other vegetarian restaurants, but there were more items. Some of the items were good while a few others could have been better. The staff was helpful.
Been there for the 3rd time during my visit to Hyderabad over a period of 3 years. Serves very good buffet and the spread is very good. Delicious starters and superb desserts. Staff is very courteous. Look forward to visiting again!!!
The ambiance was just about ok. Value for money not that great. In fact Ohris Jiva offers more range of food items for almost the same Buffet price of Rs 550/- per head. Had to remind the waiter to serve, welcome drink, water. After asking for roti it took 20 mins by which time most of my family members had finished their food. Service was slow and refill of dishes was not fast. The waiters looked as though they were disinterested. Requires lot of improvement.
