This is the restaurant for Fortune Park Panchwati, erstwhile Lakeland Country Club. The destination is perfect for a weekend getaway or even for a long drive on any afternoon and then a pleasant evening with family amidst nature and classy dining facilities. We are talking about an all day dining facility with plenty of options round the clock. Bengali and Chinese food are quite popular. The buffet presents a good number of options for both lunch and dinner. Overall the quality and the quantity of food are satisfactory and some of my top picks are Bhapa Mach, Fried Fish with Tartare Sauce and Aloo Moti Tikki Chat.
Service was slow. Buffet was not 100% The fruits served appear to be left over of the night in breakfast.
Most of the items are repeated between the meals. The spread is not that wide and doesnt represent Kolkata
I must say that the food is good at the Zodiac compared to some of the other 4/5 star hotel in Kolkata. The ambiance is soothing and not powerful.Overall its a good play to dine in with your family one in a while.A meal for 2 would cost you around1.5k only.
We stayed at the Hotel and used the Zodiac for 3 dinners and all our breakfasts (included with our accommodation). Compact restaurant, good range of food including Bengali, buffet some nights and excellent service though you are paying typical hotel prices.
It would really be strange to know that people who know this would find it difficult to locate this property and people new to this area might find it easily. Its just at the start of the Loudon Street while entering from the Park Street. Anyways. We reached and we were happy to see whatever it was. I have been on this road a several times and have seen this property being made. Its quite a new one. Not very old. The whole decor was cool. Quite modern and quite good. We went to the first floor and located the Zodiac multi-cuisine restaurant along side the Zodiac wellness center. The whole ambiance was cool and I could not stop myself clicking picyures. Later we came to know that its a 24 hour multi-cuisine coffee shop. We were friends celebrating birthday of my wife's friend. We ordered starters and then main-course. My wife and her friend ordered Thai also as they love savouring Thai. Pluses- -Food was good. -My wife and her friend liked the Thai very much. They were really very happy. -My personal favourite was the dish of Paneer and Chola. Amazing they were. -For the first time I had something apart from Tandoori roti and that was Garlic Naan. Trust me it was mind-blowing and very soft. Simply loved it. Now I try not to have Tandoori roti anymore. -Whatever any of the waiters and attendants did they did with a lovely smile. We all noticed that. -Decor is so cool that everything was clear in natural light. I liked it. I usually do not like the indoor lighting during day time. -Pricing is not that expensive considering the class it holds. -They have a good set menu where there is not too much-many and not too less also. Well set for whatever you want to enjoy. Minuses- -Somehow there was some problem with the dal. It tasted something not comfortable. Might be it could get better in sometime or it might have not been good for that day. -The service was very slow. We had to wait more than normal for orders to come to us. That is why I guess they were concentrating more on people having the buffet. -Service people were less in number and the lack could be felt. Considering the good time we had with our friends it was overall a good experience and dining experience. Must try and must recommended by me. I guess it would take more time for them to get more 'Perfect'.
