Mini Ribeiro Speaks Food critic, features writer and columnist

As the name suggests, this restaurant with stylish décor and an old-world charm focuses on Iranian food. The swish and comfortable sofas add to the opulence and the ambience transports you to Iran. The bar at the farthest end is well-equipped. The menu is extensive, if a little pricier than normal, perhaps in keeping with the plush surroundings. It includes Iranian, Lebanese and North Indian fare. There is a separate bar menu too which is exhaustive. The food boasts of the typical spices of Iran and is a treat for meat lovers. Vegetarian choices are available as well. The 'Ash e Doogh' – lamb soup with chickpeas, rice, garlic, disappoints. Among appetisers, 'Mirza Ghasemi' is worth a try. The kababs here are well-marinated and grilled to perfection. The meaty 'Kufteh Tabrizi' will delight carnivores. The hearty and robust 'Chicken Roll' covered in egg, is well-spiced but not spicy, yet replete with distinct flavours. Vegetarians must opt for the 'Mezze Platter' from the Lebanese section. For dessert, the popular 'Umm Ali' is your best option. The service staff is polite but laidback and inarticulate.
