Revival is one of the top choices in the city for a thali meal. This restaurant has been delighting diners for years and boasts of a stunning location based right opposite Girgaum Chowpatty beach. The view from the restaurant is lovely and you could also ask for a table outside to enjoy it better. While the decor is modest and no fuss, it is the food that does all the talking. The restaurant is strictly vegetarian though they do serve liquor. Some of the dishes that are popular here include the 'Achari Paneer Tikka', 'Malai Makkai Seekh', 'Tawa Sabzi' and 'Dal Malaiwala'. The restaurant is operational for lunch and dinner but takes a break between 03:00 pm - 07:00 pm, so, you would not get any service during that time.
Great food! all you can eat thali, everything was really tasty and we left so full. The staff are really attentive and friendly. Definately worth a midday visit to avoid the heat!
This place offers a HUGE variety of all kinds of local foods. Everything tasted succulent. We took a thali platter, being refilled every time with whatever we felt was worth repeating. I'd recommend smoked buttermilk, not for the taste itself (westerners beware, the taste is not what one might expect), but for the show how it is being prepared. Service was excellent, beyond expectations. Toilets are clean, as is the whole establishment. All in all, a great experience and I totally recommend.
My friend saw this place on Lonely Planet and recommended it. Im so glad we made the effort to find it. We were treated like royalty. Nate, the manager even had samosas made just for us. Who knew ketchup and chutney would make such a good topping? Our table had a lovely view of the beach and I dodn't even miss the meat (it's veggie only) I'm very full but also very happy.

Food:We Had:Starters:Moneybag:This was ur kachori:Made with greenpeas and a whole lot of flavourful spices.Fennel,cumin,drymangopowder,redchillipowder.Complete riot of flavours. Maligapudi idli:Served with white coconut chutney and podi masala which is fiery Mains:Apple dal dhokli;This is a complete dish.With whl wheat flour flat bread in which redchilli,coriander,turmericpowder are added which is semi cooked them cut into diamomd shapes and immmersed in flavourful sweet tangy dal made with pigeon peas.They had put cut apple on top as a tang further added hint of sweetness. Walor muthia:This is a vegetable made with beans made with greenchilli ginger paste and steamed gramflour dumplings with spices which make them packed with flavour. Cabbage:This is made with redchilli powder cooked thoroughly.Soft Batata bhaaji:This is made with fresh coconut:redchilli whole:coriander:cumin seeds:first roasted then ground to paste with boiled potatoes cubed and added to this lush gravy. Channa:This is a gujarathi kathol usually made on fridays as bhog to santoshimata.This the brown chana has a meaty taste itself.It has redchilli,coriander,cumin powder to taste. Rotis:Jowar rotla:A hearty farmers roti.Eaten best with inhouse butter and jaggery Jeera chapati:A bit of gramflour with whl wheat flour and loads of cumin seeds.Okie Phulka:Nice:Soft:Fluffy:Perfectly Round Rice:Dhaniya rice:This just has a punch of fresh coriander leaves and coarsely ground coriander seeds.Go for it! Khichdi:Made with yelllow lentil and rice topped with clarified butter.Soothing! Steam rice:Perfectly hot!Each grain cooked seperate!Bliss! Bikanari kadi:This is with thickened curd,gramflour and redchillipowder.So no greenchilli and sugar in this. Dal fry:This was just good.Like i mentioned their punjabi is equally good.This had temperng of garlic and browned tomatoes with green and redchilli to go by in flavours with cumin flavours being out-standing.I am not a big fan of a punjabi dal showing up in my gujarathi thaali. Meethikadi:This is made with thickened curd,gramflour,beautifully spiced with greenchillies and sweetened with sugar.Best eaten with yllw lentil khichdi or even plain rice. Meethidal:Made with pigeon peas.Mildly sweet and tangy.Lovely boiled peanuts swimming merrily waiting to be devoured.Dont be fooled best of chefs will tell u its all abt balancing the sweet and sour taste which requires skill. Saffronshrikhand:This made with castor sugar:saffron:hungcurd turned out our fav!Simple!Sublime! Gulabjamun:A very big1. Gajarhalwa:As carrots r in season this was seasons first redcarrots:khoya:sugar.Not too sweet. Price factor:1000+ for 2 Do remember with thali u get just 1sweet-dish.Others are chargeable.
