For lovers of Pan Asian food, the appetisers are stocked with wasabi bombil, tahu samrot (tofu, pineapple, pepper, chilli and spring onions), and fiery kad pad bai gra pron (chicken with bell peppers, Thai basil and bird’s eye chillies). For an extravagance, the skillet-grilled Australian scallops with kaffir lime-scented garlic sauce are the order, or even pan-seared sea bass with white fungus and goji berries in a light ginger broth. The terong balado (egg plant in spicy schezwan pepper sauce) is a one-way taste bud trip to Indonesia, while the gaeng hang lay (Thai pork curry with pineapple, peanuts, shrimp paste and preserved garlic) goes well with yang chow fried rice (ham, corn, chicken and shrimps). For the more lazy gourmand, jasmine rice and curry sets are a good way to steer clear of too much choice. For a really light meal, tuck into the som tam salad of raw papaya, peanuts, long beans, tomatoes, jaggery and lime, or a Bang Bang chicken salad with five-spice-poached poultry, carrot, cucumber, celery, wolf berry and more.

The quality of the food was very good indeed. The decor was pleasant It really did exceed expectations. Thanks again!
Service was a little slow from taking order to starter arriving, but well worth the wait. The duck spring rolls were delicious, (all 6 of them) and the lamb main course was just as good. Very reasonable price for a hotel restaurant.
Well after I experienced eighty eight of Hyatt, expected a lot from Baan Tao. But it only mesmerized me with its look, whereas the food was sort of ok. It did not match our taste. It was our anniversary , the taste buds were not happy, only eyes were. One time visit place, won't visit again.
My family recently fixed my marriage, which is after 3 years. I had met once only before her birthday on 31 August, so I decided to do something special on her birthday to start the good relationship... so I planned to propose her on her birthday in Baan Tao... It was very well done with the help of Head of Chef at Hyatt Pune Mr. Suvendu Roy and his team especially Misbah Ma'am. I want to thanks Suvendu Sir and his team for the best evening with her I had.
Hyatt Pune - long Review alert 🚨 Baan Tao restaurant at Hyatt Pune impressed me with its charm! Overall experience- Food - 5/5 Drinks - 4/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Service -4.5/5 VFM -4/5 Detailed review- Hyatt Pune, located in the lovely Kalyaninagar area needs no introduction. I have visited the property a few years back and had loved it then too. It stands tall and proud even after 5 years. The restaurant Baan Tao has won many awards and accolades in the industry and why not, they are amazing at what they do. Right from the moment you step in, you are left mesmerised ❤️ The entire set up spells class and luxury 😍 The interiors and seating arrangement is so well done up 🤩 You can opt for the open patio type seating overlooking the fountain in the outside area. Or you can step inside and enjoy a fine dine experience the luxurious setting! My father and I opted for the outside seating. The weather was just perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the food.. loved the fountain and the small bridge and wooden structure in the water! So perfect for a romantic evening 😍 The seating inside is all about luxury and sophistication! They serve a variety of cuisines in the Pan Asian area - Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. The food served to us was mostly Thai and Chinese cuisine 😊 We went with the dishes recommended by the very courteous and experienced Chef Suvendu Roy! It was quite a culinary experience for us, since we tried a lot of dishes for the first time here! We were first served Pumpkin and prawn crackers along with a trio of sauces 😍 The pumpkin cracker was slightly sweet but so crunchy! I loved the prawn crackers which were just perfect savoury crisp bites ❤️ Went well with the green sauce and the red sauce served along with the crackers 👌 Som Tum salad - a slightly sweet, slightly spicy salad with a hint of tangy flavour. Made with shredded green papaya ❤️ had a raw crunchy taste! One of Thailand’s most popular and widely eaten salads 🤩 The Thai soup 🍜 that was served to us, was in such a huge quantity! The bowl is huge and they fill it to the brim! Tom kha kai, tom kha gai, or Thai coconut soup is a spicy and sour hot soup with coconut milk in Thai and Lao cuisines. Made with coconut milk, galangal, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, mushrooms and chicken, I tried it for the first time ever, and it was so mouth watering delicious 😋 Har Gao or Shrimp dumplings 🥟 So delicious 😋 Chopped prawns mixed with spices and veggies and used as the stuffing for the dumplings ❣️ And the 3 sauces served alongside, my favourite was the green one made with Spring onion greens, garlic and olive oil 😘❤️ Drool 🤤 alert 🚨 Butter Garlic prawns at Baan Tao Hyatt Pune ❤️ A delicious appetiser 👌 slightly crispy outside with butter and yummy juices oozing out of the medium sized juicy prawns which are cooked with fresh garlic 💓 and garnished with kafir lime and coriander leaves 🍁 Gyoza- Juicy on the inside and crispy and golden brown on the outside, these are pan fried dumplings ❤️ from Japan 👍🏼 We had the chicken ones! Yummy. Again, something new for me 💕 Mains - Thai green chicken curry - WOW! So aromatic, fragrant and creamy l❤️ I have never had such a good green curry before! A light green shade and not the usual bright green, it was light but so flavourful and yummy! Asked the Chef the secret of this dish that is most frequently ordered and Chefs recommendation, he mentioned that the best quality ingredients, imported from different countries, go into this dish! Also they don’t use any artificial colours or add any paste like other restaurants- Palak paste, to enhance the green colour 👍🏼 This has to be the best Thai green curry I have ever had ❤️ Slight hit of spice, and the flavour of lemongrass was enchanting 💕 It went so well with the jasmine rice Mongolian chicken - fiery red gravy with chicken cubes and veggies 👌 though bright red in colour, it was a slightly sweet gravy 🤗 Phad Thai - a stir-fried rice noodle dish commonly served as a street food and at most restaurants in Thailand. The noodles are flat ribbon like 💕 it was wrapped in a covering of egg white! Quite yummy, but not too flavourful, a tad bland... the only dish at the lunch that wasn’t upto the mark! Dessert - Lemon grass pannacotta - such a light and delightful dessert ❤️ I’ve had pannacotta before, but never In lemongrass flavour 😘 it was yummy and not too sweet! Served along with a small scoop of Chocolate sorbet - garnished on the pannacotta 👌 Full marks for the beautiful presentation 💓 Tim Tab Grob 😍 or Rubies in coconut milk 👌 This is a refreshing dessert typical to any Thai establishment and it is so perfect for a hot humid climate ❤️ coconut milk is sweetened and coated red coloured water chestnuts are added to it! Served with shaved ice in the coconut milk! I have visited Thailand but never tried this dessert. This was recommended by the Chef so Dad and I tried it. Tried this for the first time and loved it 💓🤩 We were served the mocktail- blueberry mojito and it was quite refreshing. Though lesser ice in the drink would have been appreciated 👍🏼 Service is great! The servers and waiters are so polished and courteous! Prices - it is definitely a pricey place! A meal at Baan Tao can be a pricey affair but definitely worth the cost! Veggie dishes are around 600/800, chicken 800, prawns and seafood 1100 per dish! They have an expansive Sunday brunch menu that has unlimited options 👌 definitely worth a visit! Final verdict- The restaurant swept me off my feet right from the moment I stepped in . It was a new and delicious experience for me! Chef Suvendu Roy has done a great job 👍🏼 Definitely heading back here to explore some more dishes 😊
