This new and jazzy, fun Asian restaurant in Pune is here to serve you with some great Asian bowls, Sushi and some really interesting and unique small plates. The ambience of the restaurant is very flashy and nice and the whole setup will remind you of a fancy pub in one of those South East Asian cities. The flash reds, yellows mixed with golden chandeliers sure adds a lot of premium touch to it, considering that this one’s located inside a shopping mall. The first Mamagoto opened in Bangalore followed by Pune. The menu is really interesting and especially for many of you who love Asian food. The ‘Thai Chicken and Water Chestnut Salad’ is that one salad that is unique to this restaurant and you would not find it anywhere in Pune. The nicely cooked chicken and the crunchy water chestnuts makes a playful pairing. There are ample of choices for mains and appetizers, the latter has few good plates of sushi as well. The carnivores will surely find their love with 'Porky Tacos' or 'Smoked Chicken Tacos', 'Prawn Wrapped Bacon'. For mains, it is a good idea to get the Asian bowls which are these massive portions of a curry based from South East Asia and that is paired with noodles or rice and a protein along with veggies. Then you have the 'Malaysian Laksa', the rustic and bright yellow colour curry with coconut milk, loads of veggies and heaps of noodles. These are actually a great idea for sharing because they are massive. The desserts are limited but sure to please you, ‘Sticky Rice with Mango’ is the classic you can not miss out on and you must get it when in season. We also like the ‘American style Chunky Caramel Cake’ that has some real charm considering how simple it is. Portion sizes are quite large so make sure you have the idea of sharing.
Looking at photos I got reminded of the crunchiness of these frozen lettuce leaves and the filling Masha Allah. Price- 4 high Food quantity-4 good enough for 2 ppl( medium to less appetite) Food Quality-5 mast ekdum Service-4 maybe they were busy so couldn't pay much attention. I went on Valentine's Eve n they failed to impress. Forget impress even attend properly 😑 no complains but you didn't help in creating the experience for the money you charge. Ambience-4.
During a visit to The Pavilion Mall, I went to have lunch at Mamagoto. I had read rave reviews about the food at this restaurant and was intrigued. Located on the top floor where other restaurants offer a variety of cuisines, the decor of this one was dramatic and displayed vivid colors. Perusing the menu, I chose chicken satay, popcorn shrimp and steamed white rice. The papadums served were crunchy and tasty. The shrimp were my mistake as they paired more with a cocktail and not with what I was having for lunch. The satay looked fine but taste wise were far inferior than the ones at Noodle Canteen. This lunch cost quite a packet and I felt sad that I didn't enjoy it.
We were for a lazy Sunday lunch and the place fired us up. We ordered Prawns with Bacon and Classic Chicken wings as starters. We had bimbimbap Chicken and Bangkok Chicken as main course. The food taste was simply great. Just loved it. The service was prompt and extremely friendly. If you are at the Pavilion, this is a must visit eating place.
We went here for dinner while visiting Pune, India. Mamagoto is housed in a Place called The Pavilion right behind JW Marriott. The Pavilion has 4 floors of retail and several restaurants and a multiplex theater as well. We ordered some beers and cocktails and two appetizer platters..the Veg Dumplings which came in steaming hot in a bamboo basket. There was 10 dumplings filled with a variety of vegetarian items. They were ok. We also order the Maki platter which had a assortment of sushi and came with ginger and a mound of wasabi. I did not taste this as I avoid meat and fish in India unless I know the place well. We also had the crispy potatoes with Chilli which was a mound of Fries and sliced capsicum and spring onions in a sauce. It was quite tasty and a good starter. For the main course we shared the Udon noodles with Chicken and the Pad Thai. The noodles were slightly over cooked in both cases and the sauce was a bit salty. They had also not done a good job of mixing the bean sprouts and nuts in the Pad Thai. We did not have any dessert
I visited this place second time. The first time I visited was when it was newly opened and they didn't have Alcohol license then. We went there for a Christmas lunch and enjoyed every bit of it. Tom yum soup was just awesome. We ordered Thai and Indonesia food for the main course. I would recommend this place to eat out. This is located in Pavilion mall on Senapati Bapat road. Just behind JW Marriott hotel. Next time u are around, do visit this restaurant and enjoy the yum food.
