Dimly lit, dominated by a long bar and cushy seating and a dance floor on one side, it is best to start off here with some of their signature cocktails – the Across the World of bourbon and vermouth or the Caribbean Pirate of coconut cream and dark rum would be suitable candidates for this. For those who like to indulge in shots, the icy cognac one, or the Three Wise Men of Indian, American and Scotch whiskies are potent options. Most people would prefer to have a quick, one-plate sort of meal here rather than an elaborate amalgam of courses, and their delicious mains (such as the spaghetti carbonara with bacon, egg and grana padano, prawns linguine with sweet peppers, or chicken-tomato-basil risotto) work well for this. A slightly more elaborate entrée could be found in the marinated tenderloin steak with grilled vegetables, mash and jus, or the creamy polenta-stuffed portobello in a four-cheese sauce. For something lighter, order their tenderloin carpaccio with rucola salad and grana padano shavings, or the assorted crostini topped with tomato, mushroom and grilled veggies. If we were in your place, a dry white wine might be a nice way to wind down the night with a rich lemon curd tart.
