If there is one thing that Hard Rock Café has managed to do it is maintain its quality over the years. The service is always pretty good – gig night or not and the food and drink quite a top notch. They treat their meats with love and maybe that is why I love them all the more. Beers are available on tap and of course, you have all of the usual suspects in the bottled variety. Sometimes though, the beers on tap can be a little flat. The cocktails are potent and best reserved for weekend drinking. The sharing platters are great for large groups and quite substantial. The 'Meat Nachos' come with salsa, sour cream and some guacamole and is quite nice. The 'Original Hard Rock Onion Rings' are breaded and deep-fried and oh so good. The 'Wings in BBQ Sauce' are done well with the meat being nice and moist. The 'Red Hot Chilli Fries' is another favourite for me here. You can make a more substantial meal out of the 'Fish and Chips' which has generous portions. The 'Hickory Smoked Half BBQ Ribs' will need you to loosen the belt a few notches. And the 'Hickory Smoked BBQ Combo with Chicken and Pork' on a plate is all sorts of happiness together. Their range of infusions are good and you should try the 'Pomegranate Cider Sangria' and the 'Mango Ginger Mojito'. The infusions go into the food as well and the 'Teacher’s Whisky Bacon Jam Slider' is all sorts of sinfulness. For that weekend drinking, the 'Ultimate Long Island Ice Tea' is what you should try. The 'B-52' is my favourite to end on. For desserts, you could go with simple 'Ice Cream' or try the 'Apple Cobbler' or go all out on the 'Oreo Cheesecake'.
So many gastro-pubs have come and went but no name comes even close to the success of ‘Hard Rock Café’, which has to be the godfather of gastro-pubs in India. The pub started its journey in London decades ago by a pair of music and food enthusiasts and since then has climbed the charts for their awesome food along with a sensational ambience to match. If you happen to like live music to go with your food then there is no better place for you then Hard Rock Café. Bengaluru has an exclusive outlet of the pub on St. Marks Road, sandwiched between two heritage buildings, seeming like a glittering portal into another world. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the pub is the most opted for choice with the youths of the city.
After an overdose of eclectic menu-central pubs, Hard Rock Café’s singular approach to American cuisine is like a breath of fresh air. Their menu is not cluttered with too much choices, rather is kept simple with a decent variety of American tit-bits. Burgers feature chiefly on the menu and are what makes Hard Rock Café such a hit. They have thrown in an impressive bar menu to lend the buzz to your evening, turning the place into a crowd-magnet. Nibble on, santa fe spring rolls, rockin’ wings, original Hard Rock onion rings, fish & chips, southern spiced chicken fritter and mac & 4 cheese bites. Save your appetite for, legendary chicken burger, chicken classic club, hickory-smoked bar-b-que ribs, grilled tenderloin steak, Keralian curry, classic 60z beef burger and smoked Texas chicken sandwich.
Encore of the evening comes with some delicious coffee or your choice of desserts. Pick, apple cobbler, chocolate cake, oreo cheesecake and hot fudge brownie sundae. They even do some yummy thick shakes to marry your burgers in classic American way. But we cannot sign off without bragging about Hard Rock Café’s legendary décor. The entire interior concept of the brand revolves around rock memorabilia and showcases the obsession of it through its décor, via vinyl records, stage costumes, posters, guitars and famous Hard Rock Café signage. If you are not in mood for live music then take advantage of their Wi-Fi or slip outdoors for a smoke or to simply dine al fresco. Hard Rock Café is not cheap but it sure is fun.
