That presentation adds to one’s dining experience is no secret, but at Zen, they do it quite subtly – and yet it is a visual treat. From the lovely yam som-o (pomelo salad with water chestnut and roasted coconut) to the dragon rolls (that come with prawn tempura with eel, crab sticks, and two pieces of sashimi) to the crispy prawn cheung fun (fried prawn rolled in a steam rice paper sheet) and the crispy asparagus, each dish is flavourful and delicate at the same time. For those who like sashimi, the Zen platter is a must-try. And if you like beef, try the signature Grilled Wagyu Steak. It is perhaps one of the best things on the menu.
Zen , at The Leela Palace Hotel, Bengaluru, serves oriental cuisine. They offer quite a good selection from Thai , Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. So , you are at a liberty to choose one particular cuisine or go for a mix and match. The food was delicious. We chose a daikon and carrot salad which was crisp and fresh. A very good start for a warm summer evening . The dim sum was delicious and the lemongrass flavoured prawns on juicy sugarcane skewers was simply awesome. We went with a flavourful red curry and jasmine rice. Our dessert was okay, but a better choice could be offered. We enjoy sitting outside, but towards the end of the meal was attacked by mosquitoes. This should be looked into. Lot of places in Bangalore do offer outdoor seating.

This restaurant has indeed captured the unique art of Japanese, Thai, Korean as well as Chinese cuisines. It elevates the art of fine dining to the next level and is certainly one notch up above any other restaurant in Bangalore. Zen exhibits beautifully Teppanyaki and Yakitori cuisines on the mezzanine floor and has interesting sushi and dim sum counters and Korean barbeque tables. Pasta and bas fish in soya sauce, hai yellow curry with chicken and some chirashi sushi, chicken shoots, Chinese prawn sizzlers, Honey Chicken Sukiyaki, wasabi mayonnaise and pickled ginger, tuna and salmon nigiri is scrumptious. There is ample variety of desserts, which are simply delightful
Super attentive and knowledgeable staff assists you in exploring the unusual world of Asian cuisine. Although Zen restaurant has a large and comfortable, sitting capacity but it is packed especially on weekends. It is best to book a table in advance. Enjoy one of the most soothing culinary experiences in one of the superb fine-dining restaurants in Bangalore
