Unlike bars housed within restaurants, the Lava bar housed in Taj Chandigarh is standalone. Housed to the right of the lobby, the bar plays it discreetly and has room for a small number of covers. The interiors are in sync with the rest of the hotel and, boasts mainly of couches and low coffee tables. The hues are muted barring a few blazing red sofas. The seating is a tad straight back and is not really lounge-like. The ‘Crispy Prawn Pepper Salt’, ‘Amritsari Tangdi Kebab’ and ‘Devil’s Potato’ are your best bets with your drinks. The bar menu is pretty well encompassing. There is a good wine list along with champagne, premium Scotch, single malt whiskeys and a range of liqueurs. There is a line-up of sparkling wine cocktails as well. Lava is good for a relaxed evening, however, pricing is steep.
