Very nice place. Little costly food, but tasty. Good for fine dining. Live band is very good. Good place to have a relaxed dinner
Went to have dinner in this restaurant towards the end of a 2-week stay in Chennai. Having had enough Indian food, I went for some pasta and it was a total disaster. The portions were ridiculously small, considering their price, and all of the dishes tasted just average. The desserts were also rather disappointing. All in all, except for the nice ambiance, there was nothing special. Was there with some invitees and I was actually embarrassed that we just did not get enough food...
What a great find this was. Alfresco rooftop dining. There was a mix up with our reservation....our travel agent hadn’t made it...however, the restaurant, in spite of being incredibly busy, pulled out all the stops to fit us in. It was , in fact, a speciality fish evening and the selection of fish and shellfish on view was spectacular. We never saw a menu, the chef was on hand to discuss what we wanted and what he could do. The food was outstanding. Staff were a delight, helpful, friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere of the place. Try and get a table where you can see the nighttime panorama of Chennai. In fact, the restaurant was a great advert for the hotel (raintree), which we much preferred to the hotel we were staying in.
Went to this restaurant with 2 of my colleague. It was a Friday in early Jan and I was not sure if we would get the seats, without advanced reservations. But we did manage to walk in and get the seats. Ambience was pretty good and the place was full. The Jan cold breeze, made it a perfect place for nice dinner. We ordered a couple of starter including a mushroom based starters and another seekh kabab with out drinks. Both pretty good. for main dish we ordered dal makhani with naan since we were full with starters. One thing to know here is that the main dish (dal) portions are pretty large. Overall a nice rooftop dining place.
Had dinner at this Restaurant during their 10 day seafood festival from 28 Jan 2019. The fresh seafood was on display in a clear cut perspex of a canoe about 3 meters long and divided in compartments to hold the variety of seafood from prawns, crabs and various fish. It was great selecting your catch of the day and telling the Chef with his input on how to cook the King fish which we selected. We enjoyed the two varieties of that fish cooked as a tawa fry and a curry portion, it was a delight to down that dinner at a very reasonable price, the ambience and atmosphere was great.
