Embark on an exclusive culinary fare of authentic Thai cuisine at the elegant Lotus restaurant. You will immediately love the dramatic yet subtle colour palette here as it draws inspiration from the rare Blue Lotus or the Blue Water Lily, regarded as the most valuable Lily in the World. The carefully curated menu by Thai Master Chef, Satit Chaimano, includes specials like ‘Lark Bua Phad’ - Lotus root with roasted chilli paste, bell pepper and basil; ‘Ghae Hor Bai Bua’ - Crispy Fried Lamb Wrap, fresh chilli, ginger, cashew nuts as starters. In the mains, ‘Poo Phad Prik Thai Dum’ - Crispy Soft Shell Crabs with black pepper and soy; Chicken with bell pepper, sun-dried chillies and cashew nuts called ‘Gai Phad Med Mamuang’; ‘Ghae Yang Kratiem Prik Thai’ i.e. 'Grilled Lamb Loin' marinated with garlic, coriander root, basil and asparagus, are the signature dishes. Vegetarians need not worry as the Executive Chef, Ashutosh Nerlekar has made sure there are enough choices for them. Amongst others, for me, 'Asian Greens Stir-Fried' with ginger, cashew and fresh chilli was the best, as it was so flavoursome and fresh. Wind up your meal with 'Black Sticky Rice Dusted With Sugar And Coconut Flakes'; and 'Water Chestnut Rubies In Coconut Milk With Pandan Flavour'.
As someone who rarely experiments with food I was extremely nervous when Chef Uttam approached me in The Lotus Thai and asked me what I wanted to try. He didn't judge me for not being overly ambitious in my request rather he set about making an exotic chicken stir fry with cashew nuts. A few days later this was followed up beef stir fry with ginger pineapple and red wine sauce. Highlights included the staff even getting me apple pie as desert even though it doesn't appear on the menu. A tremendous thank you to Uttam and staff for being such welcoming hosts!
I ventured out after reading reviews about awesome Thai food at the restaurant. The only awesome thing about whole review was the review!! We ordered several items. Crown for the worst item goes clearly to Mango coconut jelly... Probably we needed Sherlock Holmes to locate the missing mango. Lady who was serving said "we don't know anything, we serve whatever is given.. ".. These words were shocking indeed. To give credit, chef came after us to tell us he will refund the money for dessert..how magnanimous indeed. He said he was aware it was awful..then why was it served in the first place. We go to enjoy the food. The food had no ghost chillies, Kafir lime leaves were there but that special flavor was missing. Papaya salad has a tangy taste... This was any papaya salad.. Please please improve on your menu. Have a few items, let them taste good..this was an afternoon wasted.. For the amount we paid, a colossal waste.
This is a very nice restaurant with great food, good ambience and good service. Surprising that it should not have traffic at lunch time.
Excellent good food for years, Must Mention the service of Monica and Gautam being helpful accommodating and professional
We stayed over at The Park and wanted to hop out for a good lunch. Was looking for options and took our chance since we were staying there. Their buffet - highly recommended - was a big surprise. They had few options on the display - one rice, one noodle, two veg gravies and two Non veg gravies. But they served soup, starters, Thai salad and some unique desserts which is not displayed. If you wanna explore good Thai food in this mti faceted town, this Thai food is a must try. Warm staff who accommodates special requests was a big plus. Good place to dine out with family and friends
