2019 is a year of the Pig and some of the city's top restaurants are all set to celebrate Chinese New Year. New menus, exciting dishes and each outputting up a lavish spread to enjoy the festivities. The new year falls on the 5th of February 2019 but the festivities kick off this weekend!

Dashanzi, JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu - Dashanzi, the progressive modern Asian cuisine restaurant at the JW Marriott is all set to embark on a culinary journey to welcome the Year of the Pig. They have created a bespoke menu to mark one of the most auspicious days in the Chinese calendar and Chef Huanxi Yan, Chef De Cuisine at Dashanzi along with his team promises a degustation of traditional recipes known to bring good luck and prosperity. Dishes like Crispy Fish Finger Teriyaki Glaze, Seaweed Tofu Miso Soup, Butter Pepper Salt Asparagus Mixed Vegetables, Scallop and Lobster Suimai, Braised Lamb Leg Chef’s Special, Wok Tossed Lotus Root Chilli Vinegar and many more. Celebrations for the Chinese New Year festival that starts from 1st February to 10th February.

Hakkasan, Bandra West, Western Suburbs - Apart from their special menu created for Chinese New Year, Hakkasan is recreating the age-old tradition of a wishing tree. Guests can write down their wishes on red ribbons and tie them to a tall 7 feet tall majestic gold leaf tree to bring good luck. Chef Raymond Wong has dishes like Three Style Mushroom Dumplings, Shacha Chicken Puffs shaped like the auspicious lotus flower, Wok Fry Lobster with Spinach and of course a decadent dessert called the Wealth Pot along with their signature cocktails.
