Among a handful of standalone Chinese restaurants in the tri-city is Shangri La. Located in the busy market of 3B2 Mohali, Shangri La does enjoy patronage but it seems stuck in time with its traditional look and feel. The dark wooden furniture, red and green tablecloths and traditional artwork on the wall weigh down the place in more ways than one. The menu packs in a sizeable line-up of Chinese dishes but they walk a familiar Chinese-meets-Punjabi route. Surprisingly, the soup section is quite robust along with the line-up of appetisers. Seafood finds special attention here and popular dishes include ‘Fried Chilli Fish’, ‘Spicy Lemon Fish’, ‘King Prawns Sweet & Sour’, ‘Chilli Prawn Balls’ and the likes.
