The Grant Hyatt used to run a wonderful steakhouse called M but because it was a decade ahead of its time it was always empty. So the management took the smart decision to shut it down (especially considering that beef is now banned in Maharashtra) and to close the boring old coffee shop. Now the M space has become a buzzy, all-day dining restaurant with a vibe and energy that is unmatched in the suburbs. The menu is multicuisine (there are chefs imported from the Hyatt in Tokyo and Bangkok) and the lunch buffet is of high quality. But the restaurant also hosts Mumbai’s hottest brunch where the Prosecco keeps flowing and the buffet table groans under the weight of some of the best food north of Worli. There are live stations and two breaks. During the first, the staff dance to Gangnam Style and during the second, the guests (who have now drunk lots of Prosecco) spontaneously get up to dance with the chefs and serving staff.
Chefs like Jhupa singh, Jasbeer singh Custodio amaze this place. Food is prepared at it's best belief.
Very nice service, very good indian food and a great selection of different food of the world. The chef Jhupa and Sumit were very helpfull and kindly with us.
We were welcomed by the Sous Chef Jhupa at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai restaurant. I recommend this restaurant and thanks to the whole team ♡
Food is excellent, service is wonderful. Celebrated our anniversary dinner over there and we were offered complimentary attention. Special thanks to chef Jhupa Singh and manager Mani maran Pilai and Kevin from the pastry service from the fifty-five East.
Dear all we’re proudly here to write down this short message to say some small words that have a great mean to us. You are doing a very good job here at the hotel especial at the restaurant where we met a wonderful humble Staff, with Chef Jhupa Singh, Nisha Gupta, Nutan Patekar and Manimaran Pilat attending us so precisely and without any complaints. We want you to know that your presence and work are acknowledged and they are helping you to reach your targets and goals. With this success comes greater opportunities and challenges. Face it with the same zeal as you always have. Congratulations. Well done 👍. Many see a job well done, but few come forward with a word of appreciation. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. You deserve it. Thank you so much Cpt Josê Lino Martinez Palacios and Cpt João Carlos Dinis.
Restaurants refurnish and reinvent themselves all the time after the tastes of the diners change or sometimes because the concept takes time to catch on. Similar things happened when Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai faced the decision of shutting down its popular steakhouse ‘M’ but soon its successor gained momentum and became a hit overnight. ‘Fifty Five East’ is an all-day dining establishment that caters to the in-house guests and locals 24X7. Its high-energy vibe and cheerful décor attracts the diners constantly so it keeps busy throughout the week, all day long. Due to its flexible timings one can stop by for a delicious bite anytime of the day or night. If you are heading back home from a late meeting or have an early one, pop by anytime for a fulfilling meal.
Keeping its eclectic clientele in mind, Fifty Five East displays quite a spread. Its menu targets various global cuisines at the same time. You can explore anything between Thai, Lebanese, North Indian and Japanese. Even if expensive Fifty Five East holds a lot of gastronomical promise. After selecting your buzzy drink dive into the appetizers as a start. Eat, chicken pankhi kebab, sushi, lasuni murg tikka, keema samosa, galouti mutton kebab, spring rolls and laksa. Choose from their signature cocktail menu to wash it all down. There are two breaks during which the staff dance to Gangnam style and in second, the happily buzzed guests join in. Main course at Fifty Five East is a spectacular selection of mouth-watering delicacies amongst which, nalli mutton nihari, kabuli chana masala, rara gosht, tawa murgh, nasi goreng and bhuna gosht are the best.
To wrap up the evening finish with badam ka halwa and crème brulee, both decadent and heavenly. Fifty Five East enjoys luxury at its best. Its dining room is elegantly designed with small formal tables placed at discreet distance all over the place. On one side is the open kitchen that attracts your attention the moment you step across the threshold. If you want a little more space to sit then ask to be seated in the booths. The service is attentive and entertaining. Overall, a great place with fun and vibrant vibe plus amazing food served in a luxurious setting.
