The Grant Hyatt used to run a wonderful steakhouse called M but because it was a decade ahead of its time it was always empty. So the management took the smart decision to shut it down (especially considering that beef is now banned in Maharashtra) and to close the boring old coffee shop. Now the M space has become a buzzy, all-day dining restaurant with a vibe and energy that is unmatched in the suburbs. The menu is multicuisine (there are chefs imported from the Hyatt in Tokyo and Bangkok) and the lunch buffet is of high quality. But the restaurant also hosts Mumbai’s hottest brunch where the Prosecco keeps flowing and the buffet table groans under the weight of some of the best food north of Worli. There are live stations and two breaks. During the first, the staff dance to Gangnam Style and during the second, the guests (who have now drunk lots of Prosecco) spontaneously get up to dance with the chefs and serving staff.

Keeping its eclectic clientele in mind, Fifty Five East displays quite a spread. Its menu targets various global cuisines at the same time. You can explore anything between Thai, Lebanese, North Indian and Japanese. Even if expensive Fifty Five East holds a lot of gastronomical promise. After selecting your buzzy drink dive into the appetizers as a start. Eat, chicken pankhi kebab, sushi, lasuni murg tikka, keema samosa, galouti mutton kebab, spring rolls and laksa. Choose from their signature cocktail menu to wash it all down. There are two breaks during which the staff dance to Gangnam style and in second, the happily buzzed guests join in. Main course at Fifty Five East is a spectacular selection of mouth-watering delicacies amongst which, nalli mutton nihari, kabuli chana masala, rara gosht, tawa murgh, nasi goreng and bhuna gosht are the best.
