Food

Pa Pa Ya

Pa Pa Ya is a restaurant in Lower Parel, Mumbai serving Chinese, Asian and Japanese. Known for Chinese dishes; ideal for family meals and group outings.

Service was slow. Had to wait for the orders to be taken almist 20 minutes. Drinks took another 20 minutes. We had to wait for Bill and then pay it for almost 35 minutes and there were about 20 people waiting for tables at the entrance at 11 pm on 14 Feb !!!

Food was good. Had Malaysian Lamb curry with paratha amongst other dishes.

Staff helpful.

Visited the Palladium, Lower Parel outlet on a weekday evening when it wasn’t too crowded.
While the ambience was comfortable and service staff polite, the food left much to be desired. Portions seemed smaller compared to previous visits, and several dishes were quite oily. The prawns salt and pepper were unusually chewy, making them difficult to eat — possibly due to improper thawing. Dim sums were the only dish that stood out positively, being light and well-prepared.
The chilli garlic fried rice with seafood had very little seafood and a noticeable layer of oil at the bottom of the serving dish. After flagging this to the staff, it took over 20 minutes for a rectified plate to come out, which appeared reheated rather than freshly made.
One concern worth highlighting is that the billed prices were noticeably higher than the printed menu. Updating the menu or placing revised-price stickers would ensure transparency for customers.
Overall, this visit didn’t match the standard I’ve experienced here in the past, and I’m unsure about returning.

Amazing ambience, humble n friendly ,polite staff and sweetest cutest receptionist n food superb just supremly superd everyone must visit once n then ul go repeatedly I went there for my birthday celebration with my soulmate best friend n njoyed alot. Thank you Pa Ya Ya for being the best host n serving us with ur best choices of food on the menu.?????????

I visited the restaurant on a Friday night and it wasn't particularly crowded. We booked a table through Swiggy and also got a good deal. The Har Gao Green Curry Prawn Farce Dim Sums were okay-ish in taste. The Jiang Chicken Chilli Tapas were good and the quantity seemed appropriate. The service however was quite slow and was a let-down despite the restaurant not being fully packed. I might visit again to try out more dishes to give it another go. The prices seemed high but it is expected in a place such as this.

Was excited to try Papaya, but our experience wasn’t great. The food didn’t quite hit the mark, mutton was too chewy and the Cheung Fun sauce was very salty. Staff seemed a bit confused with the orders, and we weren’t told they were closing until we tried to order more. They did manage to whip something up last minute, which we appreciated.
But overall not a good experience.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon after watching a movie with high hopes after hearing a lot about their asian cuisines. Then after seeing their well curated cocktail menu i became a fan. But the drinks which came after were dissapointing.
First i orderded "The Ayutthaya" and "Jam Gadang", the didnt meet the hype. Ayutthaya didnt have the spicy kick which it advertised, and Jam Gadang seemed basic, nothing extravagant.
To give the bartender the benefit of the doubt, i ordered Matcha Pandan Colada, a basic Pinacolada was served. After getting disappointed and fed up, I conplained, then they added some Matcha in it, but still no Pandan.
Cocktails were sad. Bad start.?
We then ordered a Lobster and Lamb chops, they were well cooked and good, still nothing which i never had before.
Ended the meal with a Chicken Katsu curry, it was really good.?

All in all, nothing of the hype.?
Also I dont know why there were Palm trees in an asian restaurant, not sure why but that was bugging me for no reason..?

Absolutely loved my experience at Pa Pa Ya! The food was nothing short of amazing – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The ambience was modern yet cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The staff were warm, attentive, and truly made the experience even better. A must-visit spot if you’re craving quality Japanese cuisine with great vibes!

The standard has surely gone down in all these years. Firstly we asked for regular water. To my shock there was a big ant in the water and i quietly told them at the time they were pouring it into the glass and then requested for bottled water. It was a bit embarrassing as we had come with a guest from Australia. The portion size is still good but the quality not good. The mushroom gravy tasted stale. The sushi pizza was sad. Only the chilly garlic rice and Haaka noodles were tasty. They really need to improve and get back to their yummy cuisine
