Housed on the rooftop of Le Meridien, Chingari’s gorgeous poolside ambience with rustic woodwork, brass cutlery and soft ghazals playing in the background exudes romance. The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired, in terms of depth of flavour, value for dough shelled out, and consistency in quality. The menu is packed with creativity (think seekh kababs made from minced veggies and reduced milk or kali mirchi lobster), which does not really reflect in the execution of every preparation. I would, however, definitely recommend their mutton curries, raan, desi desserts, biryanis – moist and fragrant – and the signature dal, which is rich and creamy.
