Classic pinewood coffee shop décor is what greets you as you enter this place. There is also an alfresco seating area for when it is fine weather. The all-day menu is intriguingly democratic, with a variety of Indian, Asian and American dishes strewn haphazardly all across every section. I would, however, recommend skipping it and dropping by instead for a relaxed Sunday brunch. The array is jaw-dropping – think eggs made to order, fluffy breads, nibbles such as croissants, muffins, waffles, and pancakes, along with tapas-style salads, live grills, chaats, a South Indian counter, and freshly baked pizzas. The best part, however, is the inclusion of mouth-watering buff and pork munchies that is so elusive in any five-star carte du jour these days. Live renditions of retro classics add an extra-pleasant vibe to the proceedings.
One of the best dinner buffets I’ve had. A super spread - pretty appetising. Desserts disappointing, though, for the super main course that just preceeds. Service top-notch: exactly what you expect out of Four Points. A place where your family’s special occasions warrant you to go and indulge.
The bond over brunch was brilliant; the family lounge at the lobby side just outside the restaurant was slotted for the Dessert Counters and Mastani Counter. I was really delighted by the idea of infusing the right local flavour -Mastani Counter. In Pune, in every street you could find this. Basically, it is a Milk Shake Counter. The Alfresco Area also has been earmarked for Live Counters. Please see my pictures. My lunch period was so inspiring. Banquet Manager Devendra Naik was playing the role of the Restaurant Manager. He was so generous to shoot pictures for me. Most of the pictures were shot by him. Restaurant Manager Wilson D’souza had handed over the baton to Devendra, before signing off. Devendra was so unassuming; he himself served me the appetiser. Cold Soup Gazpacho originated from Spain was a revelation for me. Maharashtrian summer drink ‘Sol Kadi’ was a tasty, nutritious drink. Great drink to beat the heat. It was served in a Beer Goblet by Lokesh. In Pune, they even pair Sol Kadi with steamed rice. Junior Chef Ajay Negi not only rustled up the Asparagus Soup, but he also made it a point to serve directly on my table. Prasad, Rahul and Akshay (Service Associates) were clad in Dark Blue uniform. On the back of the uniform ‘bond over brunch’ was seen printed in white letters. I really liked this concept. Executive Sous Chef Tenzin and Wilson D’souza ushered me in. Main Course was served by Santosh, Team Leader. Chef Subbarao was busy engaging the guests at the Chat Counter. I also interacted with the Two Hostesses -Sweta and Jennifer. Sweta is a knowledge worker while, Jennifer is an Artist too. See her picture. Rectangle shaped, white in colour Dessert Platter was very appealing. Stuffed Gulab Jamun, Kalakand, Chocolate Rolls and Pista Roll sat comfortably together. I accepted the loud music. The singer was belting out English numbers. The hustle and bustle of the restaurant inspired me. At the same time, lobby was inundated with guests, as a marriage ceremony was going on. I am glad that I could shoot pictures with the culinary artists as well as the Service Brigade at the Alfresco Area. The shutterbug in me was so happy and joyous. I had visited this eatery in April this year. I had started the review by mentioning on Dippannita Mohanty (Senior Sales Manager- catering sales). Now, let me end this review with Dippannita again. Dippannita gave company to me for some time. She is a cheerful, creative and well-motivated person at work. That said, I had met her for the first time, at Marriott Hyderabad. That was in 2007. She was an Associate at that time. I am very happy for her. Incidentally, she looks after the marriage functions of this hotel. Let more marriages happen in this hotel. The guest in me too was so delighted as I have been pleased and pampered to the hilt. Intensely addictive food. It was an unforgettable gourmet experience. It is gratifying to note the unparalleled service finesse at this restaurant. (Lunch period or Sunday Brunch on 24 June 2018.
“Yesterday only” quipped Sanjay Keswani, General Manager, Four Points by Sheraton Pune, she has been promoted. She is doing a good job in Banquet sales”. Sanjay Keswani was talking about Dippannitha, who had come to meet me in the Eatery Restaurant during my dinner period yesterday. (23 April 2018). I know Dippanitha for more than a decade now. She is exceptionally professional. I am so happy for her. Yogita (Sales) also came and met me. I felt so special. Serendipitous meeting it was. God’s ways are mysterious. I was not staying in this hotel. Presently, I am staying in Crowne Plaza Pune. Last week, I had stayed in Four Points by Sheraton, Jaipur. I was thoroughly impressed and inspired by the Jaipur team. However, Pune Eatery team exceeded my expectations by a mile. Executive Chef Sunil Menon escorted me to the Eatery from the lobby. It is really gratifying to note that this 40 year old tastemaker is highly talented and gifted. His soft skills are remarkable. Thank you Chef Sunil for your care and for being a cornerstone. He gave company to me throughout my dinner period is one thing, his magical hands masterfully crafted the Salad for me is another. Remember, for 13 years he was working in abroad - with Cruise lines. Plus in UK, Italy, and South Africa. No wonder he is so matured and generous. Before joining this property, he was Brand Master Chef for Lulu Group (India and Sri Lanka). I feel very thankful to Chef Sunil for his help and support. Service Brigade was very considerate, ready to help. My special thanks to Bharat Kumar, Assistant Manager. Hostess Swetha’s energy is boundless. Grateful to Bhavesh Mahamunkar, and Prima Dutta (both Team Leaders) for making my dinner experience a memorable one. Associate Tejas Patkar too served me flawlessly. Kiran Patil, clicked photographs of the team using my iPad. She is always cheerful and enthusiastic. Good girl Kiran is. I am glad that Kitchen Stewarding Supervisor Ullas joined the Chef Brigade for the photograph. He is so passionate. Thanks to Sous Chef Ajay Negi (Pumpkin Soup), Chef Sunil Menon (Broccoli Walnut Apple Salad), Chef Sandesh (Tandoori Bharwan Aloo, Kalonji Paneer Tikka and Tandoori Fruits) and Bakery Chef Vitthal Shinde (mix Indian sweet and mix western Dessert platter). Please see the food shots. It was an endless parade of deliciously authentic dishes. Charmingly different. Homely comfort food loaded up with textures and colours. Delicately flavoured. Intensely aromatic too. An unmissable experience it was. Ankit Sharan, F & B Manager deserves a round of applause. I am delighted by the efficacious service by the F & B Service team.
We went to the restaurant as part of GIRF. The buffet spread was good and tasty. Even my kids enjoyed the dinner. They also had a live counter. Thanks to excellent service of the restaurant staff. Special thanks to Mr. Sovon. We enjoyed our dinner time. Hope to be back soon.
This is a great place to have your breakfast. The only drawback was the veg options for breakfast were limited. They have live counters for breakfast as well. Must visit.
