There is a tradition of calling all coffee shops at ITC hotels, ‘Pavilion’. Starting with the stunning Pavilion at Chennai’s ITC Grand Chola, the concept has now been modernised. Sadly, the ITC Gardenia’s restaurants were built to an older model, so the buffet here is not as vast as the competition’s, owing to the paucity of display space. But the restaurant makes up for this in two ways. The À la carte menu is vast and interesting, going all the way from a perfect club sandwich to astonishingly good kathi rolls. And then there is the Indian food that the ITC is justly famous for. It is rare to find biryanis with such complexity of flavour and tender meat in any restaurant buffet anywhere in India.
During our stay at the hotel, complimentary breakfast at the Cubbon Pavilion included a wide choice of food: Western : toast, sausages, cakes, porridges, cereals; Pan Asian congee etc; and really delicious South Indian Kanjeevaram idli, dosa, vada, upma and several North Indian items like Poori and poha. And of course there were fruits, shakes, juices, etc.
Food and service was at it’s best Bisibele bath was really good and Chethan suggested me lots of dishes. Thank you for the hospitality.
Had a great lunch and enjoyed the beautiful ambiance. Dessert was awesome. Really had a great memory. Will be back definitely.
Cobbon pavilion is a place at ITC Gardenia where you are treated very royally. The staff is very courteous and helpful, they make you feel at home and pamper you to the hilt. Chef Navin and Chef Lepcha were very persuasive and would suggest too many dishes that you are spoilt for choice. I wish all the staff at the pavilion the best. Chef Navin and Lepcha you are the star.
I love the place! the ambience, the food and the service is outstanding. Chef Sonal is awesome, serves the best breakfast (Indian and continental).
