It has been a while since Peddlers officially opened doors in Chandigarh. A trendsetter in the city when it comes to theme-based pubs and lounges, Peddlers first started out in Sector 35. Their outlet in Elante Mall is fairly new and has already become one of the top go-to places in the city for letting your hair down listening to live music and relishing a good meal. Designed like an English pub - there is their signature brick wall lined with interesting poster art and vintage style English chairs and tables – the place does not give you the feeling you are in a mall. Even when it is broad daylight outside, it is dim (though not uncomfortably so) inside. It might not be a very huge space but you do not feel cramped. One of the first places to start with live bands, today it has become their mainstay. And it is not only reserved for weekends. You can catch a live performance even during the middle of the week. The place hosts a variety of bands playing across genres. Peddlers also boast of a huge, well-stocked bar and complementing the drinks is a well-curated menu. Given how the Chandigarh palate likes multi-cuisine spreads, the menu brings in the popular favourites. The loaded 'Cheese nachos' and the 'Papdi Chaat' are the perfect accompaniments to the chilled beer and mocktails. Just like the fusion music that is popular here, so is the fusion fare. There are the likes of 'Rajma Chaval Arancini with Tomato Chutney', 'Pesto Mushroom Tikka', and a new addition - tandoori momos. Do ask for the 'Sharing Platters' if you are a large group. The main course relies heavily on Indian fare and they do a good job with flavours and portion size. Also, on offer are a range of thin crust pizzas that are quite well done here. Evenings can get busy, so we would recommend making prior reservations.
