This may well be India's best Japanese restaurant. Unlike Wasabi and the rest which all follow the Nobu tradition, Megu is more traditionally Japanese. Where it scores over the competition is in the quality of the cooking and the inventiveness of its chef. It is also in-your-face glamorous unlike, say, Wasabi, which is small and clubby.
This is a must-visit place if you are craving Japanese food in Delhi. Located in the Leela Hotel in Chanakyapuri, the food is good and the service is great.
I was a little skeptical when our friends who live in Delhi suggested us to go for Sushi, but after 2 weeks of only Indian food (which we loved), we were ready for a change. The Hotel where the restaurant is located is beautiful, and so is the restaurant, from decor to service to food. There were only two other tables when we went, so the staff was not busy at all, but they were extremely attentive and pleasant, and even gave a little stuffed animal to the 4-year old daughter of our friends, to play with and take with her. I would definetively go back if I even make it back to New Delhi
We were dinning there and Chef personally suggest manu to us. We like the ambient, foods and especially the services. Staff are very friendly and try to serve you at their best. We enjoy our dinner there very much. Strongly recommend!
You need to come here - make sure to have a reservation. The most splendid decor and the room itself make any dinner here to a very special kind of experience. The seating, the service, the food all above perfection and undeniable one of the best I had in years. I fell in love with this place and will be back!
Dined here before joining our Scenic tour starting at Leela Palace where the restaurant is located. Authentic Japanese cuisine, in a beautifully appointed restaurant. Service was great and food fantastic. Had the usual sushi, tempura and teriyaki chicken which I enjoyed with some wam saki. The meal ended with a brief Japanese good luck ritual at the water feature, which was the centrepiece of the venue. Great surprise in New Delhi.
