Do not despair that the scorching Delhi summer is coming in the way of your eating out as there are plenty of tailor-made summer menus to whet your appetite and keep you wanting more this summer.
Delhi restaurants always have a bag full of tricks ready every year when it comes to wishing the heat away. There is a lot to look forward to with restaurants like Guppy by ai, Punjab Grill , Rara Avis, PizzaExpress, Olive Bar & Kitchen and Threesixty Degrees actively promoting their new and innovative summer menus. Made in Punjab’s new summer promotional menu called AAMantran is a great tribute to the king of fruits with dishes like ‘Mango crunch naarangi phirni’, the crispy Khakda ‘Aam Kadak salad’ and the cool ‘Aam Bhalla’ with yoghurt and mango saunth.
Another summer menu that is not to be missed is the most recently launched ‘Fio Summer Lovin’ at Fio Cookhouse & Bar. The good folks at Fio have put their best foot forward with this short, sweet and to the point menu. The menu sports conventional summery ingredients like watermelon, lots of kaccha aam, feta cheese, tamarind and coconut. The lettuce cup pulled chicken, lychee and gorgonzola salad is incredibly fresh and well balanced. For a starter, paupiettes of the grilled fish chilli lime with ginger and tamarind is a good option but the signature Phyllo Tazza with roasted vegetables and raw mango salsa clearly steals the show as it is a perfect balance of crunch and creaminess. The skillet herbed plum chicken with jus and lemon and couscous makes for a more than satisfying main course and the green mango and blueberry cheese cake is the best way to end your meal. If you’re looking to drink instead you can opt for the raw mango flavoured ‘Gin Keri’ or the ‘watermelon spritzer’.
Speaking of drinks, Amaranta at The Oberoi Gurgaon have also added a cocktail menu called the Senses of Amaranta with a few special summery drinks like tamarind-flavoured caprioskas and masala tea and vodka martinis. Punjab Grill too has launched a summer cooler menu with some great desi influenced drinks to beat the heat. Try their homemade thandai or the jamun iced tea and you will not be disappointed.
Let all these fresh summery treats serve as an excuse to go out more this summer!
