Another curry house is always welcome to join the bandwagon. One can never get enough of Indian restaurants in Delhi NCR as majority of the people are huge curry buffs. Therefore, when we hear of another curry place opening up in the city, we can’t help but try it. Lately we have been hearing great reports about this fancy curry joint opened up in West Delhi where one can savor authentic Indian flavours in an elegant setting. Where is it? Well, ‘Indus Express’ as the restaurant calls itself is located at Vivanta by Taj, Metro Station Complex, Sector 21, Dwarka in New Delhi. It’s thriving residential location pulls a substantial number of diners to it’s fancy doorstep. If you like your bit of class and service then Indus Express would be an ideal pick for you.
The menu of Indus Express covers the northern belt of India. A rich panel of curries adapted from Punjabi frontier and royal Mughal households captures our interest almost immediately. Variety is impressive. Although there is a fantastic bar menu accompanying the grub, put your focus on the traditional drinks served. You will not feel the need of alcohol while sipping on Kyber ki Sardai or Chukandar aur Kharbooje da panna. Start munching on, malai hare phool, kebab-e-bannu, ajwaini jheenga, nadru ke kebab, raan-e-khyber, dahi di tikki, charga murgh, shahi multani Bhatti ki khumbi and peshawari seekh kebab. Compile your second course with, laal mirch tadka palak, nihari gosht, malai khubani kofta, dum murgh lahori, dal makhani, aloo machli ka salan, Rawalpindi chole, Sialkot kadhai jhinga, Indus paneer tikka butter masala and Punjabi kukkad makhani.
Mop up this delightful selection with an assortment of flatbreads and rice. Our vote lies with, lagan ki biryani, roghni naan, afghani kabuli palaw, multi grain roti and peshawari naan. Portions are huge so order accordingly. Bring this meal to it’s rightful end by indulging in an array of desserts. Their homemade rose petal ice cream, peshawari meets lahori, zaafrani phirni and pasandeeda shahi tukda will hit the right spot. Interiors of Indus Express are beautifully created by playing with architectural structure. An ivory-walled dining room enclosed with a glass wall and edgy wooden accent walls presents an elegant picture. Décor is classy, contemporary and stylish. Live performance of Indian classical music charms you further. Indus Express is expensive.
